What if ART wasn’t a skill but a way to HEAL?

I wasn’t always a painter.
I never planned to be one.

Art wasn’t something I did—it was something that happened to me.

In 2020, I walked away from a life that looked perfect on paper but felt hollow in my bones. I stepped into the unknown, leaving behind the structures of certainty, and in that descent, I learned how to see. Not with my eyes, but with my breath. With my hands. With the weight of silence pressing against my skin.

Art came to me as a force—not a skill, not a practice, but a medicine.
It unraveled everything I thought I knew. It asked me to surrender, to listen, to let movement guide me instead of the mind.

I don’t paint what I see. I paint what moves through me.

Each piece begins with a single dot—the pulse before creation, the access point where everything unfolds and returns. From there, I let the line move unbroken, a current pulling me into the unknown. I don’t control it—I follow.

Watercolor and ink seep into the paper like whispers from an unseen world. They resist edges, dissolve boundaries, slip between what is and what is becoming. Because life is not fixed. It is motion, transformation, an ever-unfolding conversation.

Painting is my way of listening. Of remembering. Of translating what words cannot hold.

Clay remembers.

Every press of a finger, every curve, every pause—it holds it all. Unlike a brushstroke that moves freely across a surface, clay resists, responds, requires a conversation. It is not something I shape; it is something I listen to.

I came to pottery the way I came to painting—not by choice, but by necessity. By the need to ground, to touch, to feel the weight of creation in my hands.

There is something ancient in working with clay. Something primal. It is earth and water, pressure and release, surrender and resistance. It demands presence—because if you rush, if you force, if you try to control too much, it collapses.

Like life. Like healing.

I build each piece slowly, intentionally, by hand—letting the form reveal itself through rhythm and breath. My ceramic work carries the same flowing, uninterrupted lines as my paintings, but here, the movement is solid, tangible. The surface is traced with marks, like a language older than words.

Healing is not about fixing. It is about forming, unforming, and forming again.

Thanks @casababa105 for the beautiful photo of this cover 🙏

Not all voices can be silenced. Some wait in time, suspended between the visible and the unseen, ready to be remembered.

There is an ancient pulse hidden in these mountains, an echo that refuses to fade. It is the voice of the Sibyl.

Here, in the Apennines, where the wind carries stories older than written memory, I began to feel her presence. A whisper in the silence. A thread woven between past and present, intertwined with the roots of this land and the breath of those willing to listen.

Her words are not new. They are the same ones women once knew—the same truths that were buried, distorted, erased. The Sibyl spoke of power, of balance, of the mysteries held within the feminine. And for that, she was feared.

Centuries have tried to reduce her to myth, to a legend reshaped by fear. But some truths cannot be extinguished. They remain hidden in stone, in water, in the skin of those who still remember.

Now, from this land that bears her name, the Sibyl speaks again. And I am here, pen in hand, ready to bring back what was lost.

🔮 Listen. Remember. Her voice was never gone. 🔮

We speak of reconnecting with nature as though we had somehow stepped outside it.

Yet the air entering our lungs has passed through leaves. The water in our bodies has travelled through rivers, clouds, roots and soil. The elements that make us were once part of stars.

The boundaries we draw between ourselves and the world are useful. They help us navigate life. But they are not the real story

The relationships between things that appear separate. The ways a change in one place travels into another, through systems we may not even know exist.

Between the human and the natural world.
Between body and mind. Between what we feel and what we can explain. Between the visible and the invisible.

Union begins with recognising these LINKS again. And once you see you cant unseen

what if transformation was a rhythm?
nos something that happens once and for all, but a pulse you learn to dance with.
Like water, shaping stone
like breath returning home.
subtle. circular. rising, falling. arriving

Some days we rise.
Some days we fall.
Sometimes we move forward.
Sometimes we circle back to something we thought we had left behind.

Learning the rhythm of becoming

We’ve lost sleep over Casa Janna. Quite a lot of it.
So seeing it described this way meant more than we can say.

Behind it are years of questions, decisions, doubts, changes, long conversations and, yes, quite a few sleepless nights.

Reading this article in D by La Repubblica was a special moment for us.

@laurataccari @drepubblicait understood what we were trying to do here, and somehow managed to put into words things that have sometimes been difficult for us to explain ourselves.

Seeing all of that written down, so beautifully, was genuinely moving.

We’re very happy to share this one.

Thank you @laurataccari @meravigliapaper for looking closely and for understanding the idea behind Casa Janna.

🇮🇹

CONNECTED

This was my favourite painting.

After the exhibition I moved to @casajanna_
For days I kept looking at it. Every time I passed in front of it, it gave me something. A thought. A correction. A message.

Then a few days ago, walking past, the message was clear.

“You have to learn to be without it”

The following day it was sold.

I have experienced this enough times to have stopped calling it coincidence.

We are receiving information constantly. Through the senses, through the body, through other people, through dreams and memory.

Connection is at the heart of everything I make.
I called this painting Connected because this is what I keep returning to: the threads between things we can see and things we cannot.

It started with a shape that asked nothing of me.

Then a colour I had not chosen, sitting exactly where it needed to sit.

Then the name of a house a name I picked without knowing this valley had carried it for hundred years

Some things arrive before language reaches them

I have decided to follow those signs and see where they take me

I’m particularly proud of this one

A small universe of crossings, continuations and invisible threads.

I first touched clay in 2019

My teacher used to say that clay is a mirror
it reflects back exactly where you are.

I still remember my first coil lesson 🙈
I couldn’t make a single round one. I was coming straight from the office and every knot from that day was right there in my hands, visible to everyone, impossible to hide. I wasn’t able to apply the right pressure and instead of coils I was getting uneven almost-fiat strips

The clay knew before I did

In 2022 I started a new workshop. It became a practice. A place to bring what I couldn’t say out loud.

Grief does that
it fills every room until you find it somewhere else to live 💔

Clay became that place

It asks for something I’m still learning to give: presence without agenda

This piece was built entirely by hand. Using coil again

Eclipse

Today the moon and the sun held the same point in the sky.
One thread.
Everything that seemed separate, for a moment, is not.

The feminine. The masculine.
The dark and the light.
The moment when one disappears into the other.

Two forces. One sky.
