POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just thought I'd take a moment to do this in writing after failing about a dozen and a half times at a video. You don't wanna see those...

For those of you who are new here, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Lee Bahir Golden III, I'm 42 (as of this post), and I live in New York City. I'm the founder and editor of Film Combat Syndicate, an independent news platform where I gather, discuss and review film and TV, primarily covering action and martial arts with an eye on other genres, with an interest in stunts and the stunt community that dates about 20 years.

I cover a good deal of those things here on BlueSky, as well as here on Instagram where I also talk about plenty of other topics ado with more than entertainment. I care about the state of the world I live in and the country. As someone who survived a pandemic and is living under a heavily questionable government that is currently responsible for a number of atrocities in my lifetime, as someone who lost a sibling to a preventable pandemic that killed more than a million of us in the U.S. four years ago, as someone hustling to take care of his parents who are both retirees, and as someone bearing witness to a shitshow of war crimes my government is perpetuating around the world and here at home, I can't afford to be silent. In my view, no one can.

I welcome anyone with questions to share them with me privately, but do know that this page is my soapbox, my opinions are my own, I say what I say, and nothing is up for debate. I hope we can remain acquaintances, and even become friends off of social media.

It's nice to meet you. 😊 by @fcsyndicate

Only because AdSense continues to make little sense (or cents), I've leveled up a bit. If you enjoy my work, scan the QR code above and visit me over at @buymeacoffee or click the link bundle in my bio to my page for more info. I'm currently posting news and insider tidbits there as well exclusively for supporters. 🙏 by @fcsyndicate

Ten years ago today I took my inspiration from other niche sites before me and launched my own via Google's Blogger platform, five months after starting this movement right here on Facebook. Today, Film Combat Syndicate continues to thrive on the creative spirit of talented filmmakers and notable genre favorites in the world of action, horror, sci-fi, anime and more with an eye on world cinema, independent projects and, out of my own interests in action on film, stunt performers.

I'm also a lot busier in day-to-day life which is partly why I haven't been able to continue the site's sub-column, The Hit List, but it helps that I get to help bring attention to a number of titles that otherwise don't have any commercial reach, and it's still something I look forward to do on top of a number of things I would love to dabble in from a journalistic and critical point of view.

If you're still following this page and engaging in our site posts after all this time, know that I am hugely thankful for your support. Even if this post only gets one like or comment if you see this on Facebook - mostly because Facebook insists we all be suckers and pay our way to boost our audiences - I know there are more of you out there who enjoy my work as well as that of our contributors, past and present, and I speak for us all in thanking you from the bottom of our hearts.

Here's hoping for another ten!

Director #TimoTjahjanto recently made a post on one of his socials about getting a pair of actors together for a project he hoped would soon happen. Today's news doesn't exactly confirm this, but it does confirm he's got SOMETHING cooking.

The funniest thing happened.

I bought this last year as a late birthday present for myself. Since I only own a standard Region A disc player, I need to update its firmware - something I didn't know before buying this copy of #ABittersweetLife which had a "B" label despite being promoted as All Region compatible, and then trying to play it only for my player to reject it.

A friend said I needed to get a thumb drive to complete the update, and I've been sitting on this thing ever since, unable to start fishing for a thumbdrive somewhere for lack of time and priorities. Today, sixteen months later, I decided to humor myself by venturing to see how crazy I was if I were to just pop the thing in and see if anything different would happen. Lo and behold, I get the obligatory Copyright prompts and a whole ass Menu...

I just wanna know who threw me a magic bone sometime between now and summer 2025 for this thing to suddenly play properly. 🤣 Granted, I'm not yet still part of the 4K player club, but I'll take this win and run with it. Gosh. by @fcsyndicate

I've got a full plate of stuff to watch and review. To that extent, I'll be looking to breathe in between, which - to some degree - means adhering to my own comfort viewing: Two #SammoHung throwbacks that I've yet to see, although I remembered glazing across them from time to time as a customer on HKFlix of wayback when, and I'll be going into these blindly as well. 🤞 Packaged and printed luxuriously by the stalwarts at 88 Films no less. @mvdentertainmentgroup remains on par with quality goods. 🤝

Extra gems partly including from @rickybaker9729 @frankdjeng @fjdesanto and David West. Cheers! 🍻

Directed by Aaron Schoenke and Sean Schoenke, LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON arrives on 4K UHD+Blu-Ray combo back and DVD on October 20 from @wellgousa.

This film continues to be the most stirring of conversation topics among fans of MMPR and the late Jason David Frank, so much so that it tends to get a little scary even considering trudging into those fandom waters. Public opinion is even more frightening combined with the presence of critics engaging in fact-based discussions, and bad actors looking to chug those facts right into an online sea of misinformation, unwarranted drama, and entropy - nearly to the point where I almost decided not to review this film...

For the sake of having an informed opinion based solely on the film's merits, I'm glad I did. Hit the front page of filmcombatsyndicate.com for my analysis. LINK IN BIO!

We live in such wild and absurd times that with all the watercooler talk and hubbub about the level of "dad action" achieved by Jason Statham in his films up to now, I'm totally down for some kind of unserious, escapist thriller in the vein of COBRA KAI by way of DEADPOOL and NOBODY, in which this man plays a plumber who finds redemption in taking down a cabal of asshole criminals. I already have early ideas in my head for a plot, and action set pieces that are not only totally befitting for fans of a Statham flick, but with the type of overkills that will leave you retching in your seat.

Oh, and @timobros can direct it if he'd like. Just food for thought. Also I'm not a screenwriter, but I'd write this if I were one. IJS.
