🌈ARTMAGEDDON, the World’s Biggest Free Art & Music Festival, will astonish of Brooklyn for an entire month of creative ecstasy, culminating in a transformative day of celebration and creative freedom on October 4, 2026.

Featuring more than 500 artists, bands, performers, writers and cultural organizers, ARTMAGEDDON will unfold across Brooklyn’s 50,244 land acres through a constellation of immersive experiences, neighborhood activations & participatory happenings. In scope & ambition, the festival seeks to transform the borough itself into a living work of art.

Now with its eighth FESTIVAL, ARTMAGEDDON expands the Artmageddon Collective’s six-year mission: to make Brooklyn the most inspiring place in the world to live & work by bringing people together through shared acts of imagination, expression & joyful participation.

Several experiential Art Villages will serve as portals into this borough-wide celebration, fusing artists, performers & neighbors of every generation and background through creative encounter, collaboration & delight.

Today, FDC held a meeting to envision the future of Newkirk Plaza. We invited representatives from the MTA, DOT, and council-member Farah Louis’ office to address ongoing plans for the area including: structural repairs, architectural revitalization and merchant solidarity.

NEWKIRK AVE FALL FEST

Ring in the season with activities for the whole family on Newkirk Avenue, from East 17th Street to Coney Island Avenue. Feel free to come in costume!

The afternoon begins with street games, arts and crafts, live music, and more.

Then from 2 to 4 p.m., The Big Reuse will be hosting a tree Workshop. This hands-on, program teaches neighbors how to care for and steward our street trees, just in time for fall.

In the evening, stay for an outdoor screening of Space Jam from 6 to 8 p.m. ! 🪐🛸

This is a free event, and no RSVP is required!

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather and unfortunately this weekend is looking like a wash 😓 For the wellbeing of our vendors, staff, and community members we’ve decided to postpone the Frolic ☔️

But good news ☀️ The city is allowing us to schedule a rain date. We’re still deciding on a date that works for everyone. Bear with us while we iron this out.
