Is your HIIT session challenging your participants, or just confusing them? 👀

When selecting exercises for HIIT, more complicated doesn’t necessarily mean it's better.

As a fitness professional, your exercise selection should consider:
✔️ Participant ability — Can they perform the movement with appropriate technique?
✔️ Work interval — Does the exercise allow them to reach the intended intensity?
✔️ Recovery interval — Does the exercise allow sufficient recovery before the next bout?

The goal isn't to make every exercise harder. It's to make every interval purposeful.

Want to learn how to design and deliver effective HIIT sessions? 💪

Don’t miss out on our next HIIT Instructor Training intake!

The theory of fat loss and muscle gain is not complicated. Knowing it is a good first step. What seems to be the real challenge is how to make a programme work for the client.

A skilled body transformation coach can:
1️⃣ Manage fatigue- know the minimum, the maximum, and what's "just nice"
2️⃣ Know where to start- what to find out, and how to find it out
3️⃣ Have enough options- Build a toolkit of ideas and strategies, because every client is built differently.
4️⃣ Understand their environment- programme around their life, not begging the client the follow yours
5️⃣ Make programmes flexible- because clients may also struggle to manage multiple priorities in life

The best programme isn't the hardest one. It's the one your client can win with.

In the FEA Body Transformation Coach Course, you'll learn :
Understand Hypertrophy Science
Analyse Muscle Groups (Biomechanics)
Exercise Modifications to increase muscle tension
Design Hypertrophy Programs
Understand Fat Physiology
Design Sustainable Fat Loss Programs
Apply Knowledge to Real Clients

🚩为客户选择颈前深蹲(Front Squat)还是颈后深蹲(Back Squat)时,应该考虑什么?

两者之间的关键差异,并不仅仅在于杠铃的位置。(更详细文字在评论区)

🚩 What should guide your decision when selecting a Front Squat or Back Squat for your client?
The key difference extends beyond bar placement.

Changing the position of the external load influences torso position, joint angles, and joint torque, which changes how the mechanical demands are distributed between the knee and hip extensors.

The Front Squat generally requires a more upright torso and tends to place relatively greater mechanical demand on the knee extensors.

In comparison, the Back Squat — particularly with a lower bar position — typically involves greater forward trunk inclination and relatively greater mechanical demand on the hip extensors.

However, this should not be interpreted as:

Front Squat = quadriceps only

Back Squat = glutes only

Both variations require coordinated contribution from the quadriceps, gluteal muscles, and other musculature involved in the squat pattern. The primary distinction lies in how the mechanical demands are distributed across the joints.

For personal trainers, exercise selection should therefore be based on the client’s training objective, individual biomechanics, movement competency, and the specific adaptation you are aiming to achieve.

Understanding the “why” behind an exercise allows you to move beyond simply prescribing movements and make more informed programming decisions. taken in FITM by @fea.group

💬 Comment “REHAB” to learn more about the Corrective Movement Coach – Movement Restorative Specialist course.

🚩 Stop forcing clients into ranges they don’t own yet. 🛑

If your client struggles with overhead movement, simply pushing harder or forcing more range may not be the answer.

Great personal trainers don’t just count reps. They observe movement, recognise limitations, know when to refer to an appropriate healthcare professional, and understand when to modify, regress, and rebuild.

That’s why we created the Corrective Movement Coach – Movement Restorative Specialist course.

Move Beyond Corrective Exercises.
Learn to Think Like a Corrective Movement Coach.

Corrective coaching isn’t about collecting more exercises. It’s about understanding what to change, why you’re choosing an intervention, and how to apply it appropriately within your scope of practice.

Using FEA’s R.E.A.C.T. Framework, you’ll learn to:

✔ Recognise when to refer and when training may be appropriate
✔ Conduct practical movement assessments with confidence
✔ Design individualised, evidence-informed corrective programmes
✔ Apply the ALIGN Exercise Library with cues, progressions & regressions
✔ Make clearer, movement-informed coaching decisions

Developed with content contributed by Ulrik Larsen, Australian Sports Physiotherapist & Rehab Trainer, this Level 3 continuing education course combines online learning, hands-on practical workshops, and case studies to build real-world coaching skills.

Where do you put the kettlebell between transitions?

In this short clip from the full live course, the educator introduces the “Safe House” position — a useful reference point when coaching single-arm kettlebell transitions.

The “Safe House” position:
Elbow Tucked: Keep the elbow close to the ribs.
Knuckles Under the Chin: Position the hand around chin level.
Wrist Straight: Maintain a neutral wrist position.

This position provides a consistent reference point when moving between different single-arm kettlebell transitions.

The Metabolic Functional Tools Coach Course explores practical coaching strategies and the use a variety of functional training tools including sandbags, kettlebells, suspension trainers, battling ropes, slam balls, and medicine balls to help fitness professionals develop more varied and purposeful training sessions.

A huge congratulations to this amazing group of coaches who successfully completed the Corrective Movement Coach Course! 👏💫

Over the past two days, our participants went hands-on with movement assessments, worked through different client scenarios, and explored practical ways to make more informed training decisions when working with clients experiencing pain or movement limitations.

✔️ Identify when to refer a client to a healthcare professional—and when training can appropriately continue
✔️ Carry out practical movement assessments with greater clarity
✔️ Use a structured assessment process to make more informed decisions
✔️ Apply targeted corrective exercise progressions to improve movement quality, build client trust, and support long-term retention
