i'm joining the hordes who are feeling a huge sense of loss after learning our beloved hairiest drag queen in the world, @dingo_van_r (aka @martha_graham_cracker) has left us. for all the martha cabaret nights at l'etage, for my very own private birthday cabaret at l'etage in 2012, for the performance at the philadelphia museum of art, the dazzling and chaotic pig iron cabarets, the girly-man performance of hedwig at the latvian society, the wonder of ditomartha in my favorite musical, jesus christ superstar -- not to mention ALL the pig iron performances but especially twelfth night! -- for all this and more, an everlasting thanks. thanks for the joy. thanks for the creativity. thanks for the reminder to spread love and laughter, no matter the circumstances. rest in peace. rest in power. you were one in a kazillion.

day six, beara way, allihies to eyeries. it was a shortie with a stiff wind as we walked from one colorful village to another across two mountains and then down along the coast. by @femelmed

day five, beara way. cable car to dursey island and then back again, before walking along the coast back to allihies. the coast here is breathtaking. so was the cable car, for some. it fits six and stopped taking cows in 2011. taken in Dursey Island Cable Car by @femelmed

day 4, beara way, en route to allihies. sighting of a stone circle from the bronze age kicked off a day that took us across peat bogs, up over a mountain and along the ridge line, up another particularly grueling mountain before looking back at the town we left and ambling down to the town we're in. some very loud lambs, a curious cow, and the most delicious lemon meringue pie all greeted us. by @femelmed
