Musings from the birth portal ✨

Birth is feminine.

Obviously.

I’ve witnessed over and over again how the experience of birth pulls the masculine counterpart into the fullness of their femininity. Men birth their deepest intuition and nurturing qualities in the energy present at the portal.

The feminine, the yin, the creatress, the priestess is prowling during birth. Wrapping the entire journey in a tangible watery womb of Mother Earth.

I love witnessing the men drop in and the women shine like a beacon of glorious feminine light.

While the feminine is radiating, the masculine is still an undercurrent of expression to create a poetic balance.

Moments of ease come from resting into the support of strength and protection that naturally flows through our balanced masculine lovers.

Birth is the existence of yin and yang dancing in primal harmony.

It was my absolute honor to walk with this fiercely grounded mama. She was calm, confident, and courageous ever step of the way because she was in full sovereignty and authority over her experience.

I can’t believe I am almost fully booked with birthing mamas until next June 💗💗💗

Don’t be fooled, truth and light doesn’t mean the absence of grief or rage. It means authenticity in expressing what is true for you. If grief or rage is present let it through you and channel it into something productive. So you can stand wholly and holy as a deeply authentic being.

We won’t see the satya yuga in our lifetime in the macrocosm but we can and really must create this utopia in our microcosms.

I dreamt of the ropes vividly multiple times before I ever touched them. They lured me into their potency and left me craving to know them.

I wanted to find a teacher to learn the art of shibari from but there was no one around where I live who was offering what I was looking for or really offering anything at all.

After seeking for almost a year, I decided to be patient and allow what was meant for me, to come to me. I knew that when the time was ripe, the teacher would appear.

And appear she did. A delightfully feral woman who is captivating to witness in her element. She weaves a delicious amount of pleasure and play with a tender amount of therapy into an experience you certainly won’t forget @becoming_unravelled 🧶🐈‍⬛

Although shibari is new to me, the ropes feel very familiar in my hands. My beginnings with shibari feels like an evolution of my yoga practice(and teaching practice) which I studied and gave my life to, intensely, for nearly 15 years.

And let me tell you it wasn’t a fluffy kinda yoga that we see so often here in the west. This was the real deal. Anyways, that’s another story for another day…

The ancient arts of shibari and yoga both point to surrender as an opportunity to explore greater depths. They request we find comfort in discomfort by where we place our attention, increasing our awareness of the space, not the reaction.

They create an environment of curiosity for self inquiry, self development, and self discovery.

Pleasure through the portal of knowing oneself.

As I complete another spin around the sun I’ve been reflecting on the magnitude of blessings and beautiful beings I have surrounding me. The gratitude and trust I have for life is probably bordering delusional but i like it that way.

I’ve been sitting on these videos for a year wanting to share them. Last year for my birthday my dearest @sarahzandbeek and @san.petah planned a surprise party and invited all my loves to come celebrate me. Not only did they make me an amazing spread of food but also showered me in flowers, a big fire and even some massage cause we all know these are 3 of my most cherished ways to be adored, flowers, fire, touch 🔥

Bless the earth.

Bless these beautiful beings.

It hasn’t been easy.

There have been grand obstacles to navigate. Ruptures that seemed like the end. Judgments that muddled our clarity. Uncertainties that felt too big. Yet through it all, we seem to always find our way forward into repair that creates a deeper bond of safety and love. Where our foundation of friendship contains us. Where we uncover the truth of our love and the desire to keep choosing each other every time. A returning to the source, a fountain at the center of our hearts that pours into this divine union.

He is my best friend who evolved into my lover. I don’t know where I would be without his love to catch me when I fall and bask in my glory as I rise. The gratitude I have for this amazing man is a fire that burns bright and keeps me warm.

Witnessing such strength and grace through the rite of passage of birth is a gift I have been granted for the past 9 years. Although no two births are ever the same there is such an exquisite dance that takes place between mama and baby that has become familiar. That has become so trusted.

Birth is a rite of passage and it is not meant to be easy, it is meant to change you. It is definitely not something to be feared although the media and industrial medicine sure do their very best to make you feel that way.

If you conceive your baby, if you grow your baby, you can birth your baby.

This mama and family were such a blessing to walk with. The strength, the courage, the trust, the fluidity and the softness is something I will carry with me because being around it was deeply moving and empowering.

Bless the beings who ground into the earth, dance with the fire, sing with the breeze and move with grace like water 💦 🔥 🌬️ 🌲
