🔥 And once again, the jersey changes hands! 🔥

@ferdibotha_velo showed exactly what he’s capable of after returning from Belgium, putting down a brilliant performance to finish 6th overall and 1st Junior across the line! 🇿🇦💪

@faraz_cycling was right on his wheel, taking 2nd place in the Junior category, while Gauteng’s own @henko_cycling rounded out the podium in 3rd! 🥈🥉

The battle for the jersey is heating up, and with every race, the leaderboard keeps changing! 🏆⚡

Last week of 🇧🇪

Racing in Lichtervelde on Saturday, unfortunately derailleur went into crash mode and had to ride race with 52-15 gear. Managed to stay in the group and finish 24th.

Houthulst on Sunday, short laps with a punchy hill. Got away in a break of 8 and stayed away till the end. Finished 6th in a messy sprint.

Finished the trip with a ride on the Eddy Merckx Velodrome.

Big thanks to @kvc_meetjesland , @fredytanghe and @vivmouton for the support during my stay and to friends, family and sponsors.

Extremely grateful for this trip. by @ferdibotha_velo

RACING IN BELGIUM

@ferdibotha_velo has been racing in Belgium since 14 July, once again representing KVC Meetjesland, after also riding for the club last year.

It's been a solid stint of racing, with several Top 10 and Top 20 finishes, including two 3rd places.

On Wednesday, Ferdi took the opportunity to watch the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen & Omloop van het Houtland before heading into his final race weekend in Belgium.

One last weekend!

📍 Saturday: Lichtervelde
📍 Sunday: Houthulst

Good luck for the final two races, Ferdi! We're rooting for you all the way from home.

Week 9 🇧🇪

Saturday race in Hingene. Short 5km laps with cobbles and technical turns. After 2km went solo, stayed out for 5laps to get some premie sprints. On last lap @alasdairbiking attacked on cobbles and stayed away, managed to get 3rd. Nice experience racing with Lotte Kopecky.

Sunday race in Klein-Sinaai. Whole race in the rain, luckily no crash, 2 teammates in a break of 6 went to the finish. Finished 11th.

Very happy with the performances and excited for last 3 races.
