FRIDAY NITE DJ PRACTICE! by @ferguswaveforms

🍄THE GIANT PUFF BALL is Saturday night and our $20 rsvp tickets are over half gone! These guarantee entry before 7.30 – grab one at our link in bio, otherwise it’s koha @ the door!

This is Auckland Mushroom Festival’s official closing party, where the mushroom-mad, the curious, and the beautifully strange will gather under one dome to celebrate everything the festival has grown.

Our host for the evening comedian Johanna Cosgrove, will guide us through the night. There will be live music and DJ sets from HALFQUEEN, Carnivorous Plant Society, Hun Lynch, Fergus Waveforms, Ryan Berkley, Foxglove and ECB Firmware, all wrapped in floor-to-ceiling visual projections that will have you convinced you’ve wandered into the undergrowth.

The night will begin at 5pm with a special welcome mihi and karakia from Te Rōpu Māori Auckland Pride. From there it will unfurl with party games, mischief, and a spicy punch bar by Karmaceuticals. BYO cup if you can.

COSTUMES, DARLING. COSTUMES
This is a ball, and you are the fungi. Get crafty, get weird, dress like you grew from the forest floor. Spot prizes for the best dressed fungi! If you’re stressing about a costume – don’t. Just use what’s in the cupboard. Or you can make one day-of with @small_rave at FAM Market or out west Thursday night with @sur.collective . Check out their recent posts for more deets!

SHOES OFF, SOCKS ON
In the spirit of fairies, this is a barefoot ball. We’re stoking the furnace and rolling out the rugs, so pack some cosy socks. Coat check will mind your shoes, so don’t fret. (Dealbreaker? Soft-soled shoes are ok, just no hard heels)

THE PRACTICAL BITS
The Giant Puff Ball is R16 (w accompanying grown-up) and alcohol free inside. If you fancy a tipple, pop next door to No.7. Lollo’s Pizza Rave will be out front serving authentic Roman-style slices to fuel your frolicking.

TIME n LOCATION
Saturday 15th August, 5 to 10:30pm at Whakamana: the Cannabis Museum of Aotearoa, inside the gorgeous Hopetoun Alpha.

Dress fungal, dance feral. Let this night mushroom!
