I’m Fern, a Christchurch-based filmmaker, and recently I made a decision that honestly scared me.

I left my job to give myself a proper shot at building a career around cameras, people and storytelling.

I’m still figuring it out. There’s fear, doubt and plenty of moments where stepping outside my comfort zone feels easier said than done.

But that’s also the mindset behind FernWorkz.

I don’t want to just make content that looks good. I want to experiment, think differently and create visuals you don’t see every day.

Colour, sound, movement, strange perspectives and the little details that make a story feel alive.

I’m learning, experimenting and taking it one small win at a time.

I don’t know exactly where this will take me, but I’m excited to find out.

Welcome to FernWorkz 🙌

Had the opportunity to jump in and be part of the latest campaign with @noodnz.

How fun is it shooting in a controlled environment with great people! The deliverables were a bit different from this one reel, but I’m just out here showcasing my vision.

Thanks again to the team and everyone who made this possible. Onto the next one 🙌🔥 by @fernworkz

Ah man, first couple of weeks of committing to cameras, and I honestly couldn’t be any happier. Very grateful for the opportunities and people that have come across my path in this short period of time.

Although it hasn’t all been rainbows and sunshine, I’m looking forward to keep hustling and build a life worth having forever.

October is looking to be another good one, so if you’ve got any enquiries, feel free to reach out! Can’t wait to share some of the work from the past month 🤗 #nz #filmer #chch #cinematic #reel by @fernworkz
