🩷 An Atomic Addition to the Fertility Action Family 🧡

📢 We are delighted to announce that singer, Celebrity Masterchef, and No-fly traveller @lizmcclarnon -Cho has become the very first Ambassador for Fertility Action! 💙

Many will know Liz as a member of the hugely successful pop group Atomic Kitten, as well as for her work across television and radio. More recently, Liz has inspired many through her own fertility journey, helping to raise awareness of the realities and challenges that so many individuals and families face when trying to build a family.

Having experienced fertility challenges herself, including eight rounds of IVF before recently welcoming her baby, Liz brings both personal insight and a deep commitment to supporting others on their fertility journeys. Her story has given hope to many and highlighted the importance of ensuring people have access to the support, information and care they need.

As Fertility Action's first Ambassador, Liz will support our work across advocacy, education and support, helping us amplify the voices of those affected by fertility challenges, raise awareness of key issues, and champion positive change.

Liz's authenticity, compassion and passion for improving fertility awareness make her an incredible addition to our team. Together, we will work to break down stigma, improve understanding, and ensure that fertility remains firmly on the agenda for policymakers, healthcare professionals and the wider public.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Liz to the Fertility Action family and are excited to work alongside her to make a lasting difference for the fertility community.

Please join us in giving Liz a very warm welcome! ✨

🧡🩷 We need to act - and we need to do it together.

The IVF postcode lottery isn’t going to end by itself.

Right now, where you live can determine whether you can access NHS-funded IVF - and we have a real opportunity to push for change. But this is something we can only achieve together.

One person writing to their MP can make a difference.

Hundreds of people writing makes an even bigger impact. And when thousands of us stand together and say this isn’t fair, our voices become much harder to ignore.

📣 So please, if you can, take a few minutes today to get involved:

🔗 Go to the link in our bio
✍️ Use our ready-made template letter
📩 Send it to your MP
📲 Then share this post and encourage others to do the same.

Send it to your WhatsApp groups. Share it with your friends and family. Tag someone who might want to join us.

Every letter matters. Every voice matters. And every person who gets involved helps build the pressure for change.

We’re asking everyone who can to stand with us on this.

🧡🩷 If we all do our bit, together we really can make a difference - and help end the IVF postcode lottery. 🫶

(And if you want to do EVEN MORE - DM or comment "PR" and we'll send you our press release to send to your local news/paper/radio too - 🔗 also in bio!)

We all need good people around us. Ones who truly get it.

We understand, because we've lived it and we deeply care about making your fertility pathway as gentle as possible.

We'll be sending our posters out to clinics soon - (take a photo 📸 and @ tag us in your stories when you see one up!)

Let's see if we can work together to reach everyone that needs our support

The feedback is in 🙌

Last week a cracking group of humans gave up their time to simply create space for others going through the difficult pathways of family-building, infertility or reproductive health challenges.

Those that came along, told us they'd felt seen, calm and genuinely understood with compassionate conversations and refreshing new connections made - with people that truly get it.

We hope you'll join us for the next one on Sunday 21st March @ 3pm 🫶🧡🩷

We have a small number of hosts in Scotland, Wales and N Ireland - and would welcome any messages if you'd like to help us and host more in those areas (or anywhere in the world! 🌍🙌)

THANK YOU to all of those amazing people who gave up their time to lead these walks, we are so so grateful and hope you can join us again in March 🩷🧡

Those who lead or attended the walks - tell us how it went for you in the comments below - we'd love to hear! ⬇️

🩷 October is Baby Loss Awareness Month 🧡

For some, we know this month is hard on social media - while it brings the important awareness it also throws up memories of the baby they miss.

For others, it may bring feelings that are harder to name. A sadness that comes and goes. A date you never forget. A room you can no longer walk into. Or the deep ache of wondering who that baby might have become.

And for those navigating fertility treatment, loss can carry another layer of uncertainty.

There can be the grief of a pregnancy that didn’t continue, alongside the fear of whether another pregnancy will ever happen. The family you had imagined and the future you had pictured. The questions that have no easy answers.

For some, the path to parenthood may look different or the journey may end without the child they had hoped for.

There is no hierarchy to these experiences. No right way to feel. And no timeline by which grief is supposed to become easier.

Sometimes we don’t even know what we are grieving. We just know that something has changed, and that we are carrying it with us.

And while we may not always see someone’s grief, that doesn’t make it any less real.

This October, we’re thinking of everyone who has experienced baby loss, everyone still navigating their family-building journey, and the partners, families and loved ones who are carrying their own feelings too.

You don’t have to find the right words or explain why it still hurts.

We see you. We’re here with you. 🩷🧡

I get sad for that broken version of me that was so fiercely private that I didn’t know about how important support and community is to those of us going through IVF

So I didn’t know the tried and tested methods of others who’d been here before me.

I had advice from doctors (and sometimes that didn’t come in time) but not from the ones who’d done it, taken the meds, been covered in bruises from the needles.

I didn’t even know the silly little things like the satly fries superstition.

Recently I became a @fertility.action ambassador because I don’t want anyone else to feel as lonely as I did. Even the other day Kate from Fertility Action told me ANOTHER thing I didn’t know about - “Compassionate Transfers” 🤯❤️

I’ve connected with so many IVF warriors/survivors/parents now that I know what a supportive & important community it is.

Please do follow @fertility.action or something similar so you’re not alone.

I’m here to chat too but for some, I know speaking to someone on the other side sometimes makes you feel worse so it’s important to connect with people who are on a similar timeline to you too.

I would also like to say thank you to lovely Sara from @ivfbabble who I only discovered towards the end of my treatments because we used to work together. ❤️ by @fertility.action

Thank you so much to those who have written to your MP's so far!

There is LOTS going on in Parliament this week, and our collective advocacy is making a difference - so let's keep this momentum going! 📣🙌

🙌Ending the postcode lottery is in closer reach than it ever has been before!!💪

Right now, an important change ("Amendment") to the Health Bill is being presented in Parliament.

They are reviewing and finalising a massive shake-up of how the NHS is run. Members of Parliament (MPs) are spending today discussing the details, voting on massive changes, and deciding if the bill is ready to move to the next phase.

❓So what do we need to❓🧐

Tag or email your MPs to support New Clause 104 and vote for this important amendment. (You can also send us this 📣 in our DMs if you want to join our fertility voices campaign group)

❓But what does this mean for patients?❓ 🧡🩷

If enough MPs support it, NC104 could move us towards standardising (3 minimum) NHS-funded IVF provision across England, making huge inroads to address the IVF postcode lottery and unfair access.

This has been going on for years, which is why we are working so hard to ensure that our collective efforts aren't futile and that we finally reach the change we all want to see.

We are confident that the MPs we've been meeting with will continue to listen to patients and we hope more join them.

An enormous thank you @kateosbornemp who continues to push this campaign forward via the APPG for Fertility, to @gavinwilliamson.mp for putting this amendment forward and standing up for fertility patients across the UK, and to @jessbrownfullermp who continues to support the campaign and has supported our call for a national fertility strategy in Parliament this week.

Let's keep pushing! 💪 A new MP template letter will be shared soon - keep your eyes peeled 👀

On Wednesday, people from across the fertility community came together in Parliament to take an important step towards a National Fertility Strategy.

With lived experience at the heart of the conversation, four courageous fertility advocates shared what it really means to navigate a system where postcode, cost, eligibility and inequality can still determine who gets the chance to build a family.

Their stories were different. The message was the same: we can, and must, do better.

Together with Chair @kateosbornemp and parliamentarians, clinicians, patient advocates, economists and fertility experts, we explored what meaningful change could look like - from tackling the postcode lottery and inequality, to employment, marginalised communities, the economics of implementation and learning from Scotland and Europe.

A huge thank you to @lgbt_mummies @fertilitymattersatwork for working hard with us to form this APPG and providing vital insights to the discussion. To @progresseducationaltrust, @fertilityeurope, George from ZS, @hannah_bardell, Ippokratis Sarris @britishfertsoc and our Trustee @drcarolegillingsmith for their powerful contributions and expertise.

And to the parliamentarians who continue to champion this cause: @jessbrownfullermp, @gavinwilliamson.mp and Baroness Geeta Nargund - thank you for being part of this vital conversation.

The new NICE guidance could transform fertility care. But guidance only matters if people can actually access the care they need.

The lived experience has shown us what is broken. Now, collectively, we need to build a strategy that fixes it.

This was one important step. The work continues - together. 💛

Today was gentle, beautiful and exactly what we'd hoped for.

There are certainly some amazing people in this community, (and so many of them!) who were willing to give their time to simply create a space where others could connect, talk and find common ground with others navigating fertility or reproductive health challenges.

To each and every one of you who donated your time for this today - Thank You.

We've seen people who've never spoken to another soul about their experiences swap numbers, women in tight bear hugs, men sharing their story for the first time, women laughing at similarities, hand-squeezing in mutual understanding.

One of the messages we received today said;

"So glad I went to the walk and talk, thank you so much for organising it’s so nice knowing we aren’t alone and finding others in similar situations. There’s nothing like face to face contact and I’m looking forward to the next one. Thank you xx"

To those of you who joined one of the 27 walks across the UK (and Europe!) today - Thank You for taking a leap of faith with us 🫶🧡🩷

If you didn't join us this time, but would like to next time - we'd love to hear from you :)

📅 The Next "Walk and Talk" Event will be held on 🩷Sunday 21st March 2027

Sometimes, the most important part of support is knowing there’ll be a familiar face when you come back. 🤍

At Fertility Action, we’ve always wanted support to feel like somewhere you can keep coming back to - a warm, welcoming community where you feel seen, understood and accepted exactly as you are.

Many of us have our own lived experience of fertility challenges, so we know how lonely the journey can feel. We offer regular opportunities to connect throughout the week, across different stages of treatment and beyond.

When people meet regularly, trust grows, friendships form and community happens naturally. Sometimes a conversation in a support group becomes a friendship that carries on long after that particular stage of the journey.

We also take quality, safety and professional oversight seriously. Our facilitators are at least three years post-treatment, fully trained, meet with our Psychologist before starting and receive ongoing professional supervision.

That combination of lived experience, training and professional oversight helps us create spaces that feel compassionate, inclusive and psychologically safe - for you and for our team.

We want Fertility Action to be somewhere you can keep coming back to, knowing there’ll be understanding, kindness, connection and a familiar face.

Scruffy buns, overshares, PJs, pets and all. Everyone welcome🤍
