People often see the version of me that manages to get dressed, do my hair, put on makeup and smile. 🤎

What they don’t always see is the version of me who struggles to get out of bed. The exhaustion, the pain, the days lost to recovery and the frustration of wanting to do so much more than my body allows.

Living with ME/CFS is a constant battle between what I want to do and what I am physically capable of doing.

One of the hardest things about an invisible illness is that when you look well, people can assume you are well. You can find yourself feeling like you need to explain, justify or prove why you’re struggling.

But I shouldn’t have to look unwell to be believed.

Getting dressed doesn’t cure me. Putting on makeup doesn’t take away my symptoms. And managing something one day doesn’t mean I’ll be able to manage it tomorrow.

I’ve lived with this illness for 20years now. That’s my entire adult life. Diagnosed when I was 16. Told I was ‘medically retired.’

I went to University
I got a Degree
I built Businesses
I still STRUGGLE

EVERY SINGLE DAY

As Invisible Disabilities Week comes to a close, I want to remind people that you never know what someone is dealing with behind closed doors.

Please be kind. Believe people. Offer understanding instead of assumptions.

And to anyone living this reality too, you don’t have to prove your suffering to deserve compassion. 🤎

As we prepare for this year's National Fertility Awareness Week (NFAW) starting 2nd Nov we want to shine a light on our community and most importantly the real people and real experiences that MRKH affects. So we want to hear from YOU.

This year's theme is #FertilityUnfiltered because these conversations are tough and we all know the reality is infertility is HARD and knowing there are others going through those same or similar experiences can really make a big difference.

Suddenly we may not feel so alone.

If you are interested to share your MRKH story on any of the following topics for NFAW then drop us a 💜 below and we will send more details. Our aim will be to then share these experiences during NFAW.

It's an exciting month of November coming up for 'Seed'... Screening in London on 14th with PRIFF, awards ceremony on 15th with PRIFF, then another one the following night! We're lucky enough to have been selected for the International Film Gala London on 16th Nov, and finally we'll be in Boston, 22nd-25th Nov, for the Women's Independent Film & Television Festival! Woohoo! Incredibly grateful for all these selections. 🎉😊🌱❤️🙏

Now this piece of research definitely caught our attention and just reinforces exactly why we exist!

This research paper looked at an extensive number of papers and peer reviewed articles relating to male fertility and the results were pretty telling.

They found that men rarely receive routine healthcare follow up after providing a sample for ART. Moreover sperm contributions in ART are often overlooked by clinics leading to an over reliance on optimising the clinical environment, oocytes and embryos.

This paper also recognised that research into improving male fertility protocols is improving but clinical implementation has been slow. Current treatment options for male infertility are limited to procedures like ICSI which bypass underlying causes of male infertility.

Finally (although there is so much more in this paper) there is a serious lack of integration of mental health professionals into ART clinics and there is an urgent need for appropriate counselling and psychological care for fertility patients throughout treatment.

Unfortunately, although this is all quite shocking, it's not something that new to us!

When are we going to start taking male fertility more seriously?
When are we going to assess both the man and the woman equally?
When are we going to send men to the correct medical professional for them to be assessed and treated before they start IVF?

National Fertility Awareness Week 2026 (2-6 November) is fast approaching, and it's time to shine a light on the fertility journeys that are too often overlooked.

As someone who is experiencing fertility challenges firsthand and seen the barriers faced by many individuals and families, I am committed to campaigning for accessible, fair, and compassionate fertility care for all through my commitment with @fertility.action

Fertility affects more people than many realise, which is why this conversation is not just for patients.

Employers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, community organisations, families, friends, and allies all have a role to play in creating understanding, support, and positive change. Whether it's improving workplace support, challenging stigma, raising awareness, or advocating for fair access to treatment, every voice matters.

✨ The second Black and Brown Fertility Show did NOT disappoint! ✨

After being unable to attend the first Black and Brown Fertility Show earlier this year, I made sure I didn’t miss the second one and I’m so glad I did! 🥰

I attended some really informative workshops and learned so much, particularly about men’s health. As someone passionate about fertility support, I know how important it is that we continue to raise awareness and have these conversations within our community.

I met some lovely exhibitors @stellasupplement @sapyen.co @tommys @leighsamariskincare , made some great connections, @themalefertilityclinic and had some wonderful conversations! ❤️

A special mention to @mills.liberty, who had me laughing so much! 😂 I even bought her book, 360 Fertility looking forward to reading it!

It was also lovely meeting Katie Rollings from @fertility.action What a blessing! 💛

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to meet @feelathomereflexology, but there’s always next time! 😊

A huge thank you to the Black and Brown Fertility Group for putting together such a wonderful event. 🙌🏾

There is still so much work to be done within our community when it comes to fertility awareness, education and support. Events like this remind me why representation, collaboration and creating safe spaces for these conversations matter so much.

What a way to welcome in my 37th year!

Today, Katie and I had the opportunity to volunteer our time documenting a special project for @fertility.action at the @bandbfamilygroup Black and Brown Fertility show in London!

To say that today was an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement. The stories we captured were absolutely unbelievable, and full of so much power, grief, inspiration and love.

To Katie of Fertility Action, thank you for allowing us to be a part of this project! We are so excited to be helping build on the incredible work you are doing for fair fertility access within the UK.

To Stephanie, Beverly, and all of the volunteers: thank you for making us feel so welcome today, and for organising this wonderful event. What you’ve created is truly special.

To the wonderful people who trusted us with their stories: thank you for your bravery and willingness to be vulnerable.

Thank you to Farra and George for welcoming us into London, and for providing us with a place to stay while we were in the city. You made volunteering for this project possible (and dinner was fab!!!).
 To my sister Katie, thank you for allowing me to volunteer you into this position and for making sure that everything ran smoothly. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you!

We are physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted after today, and I expect it will take the weekend to recover, but it was 100% worth it and we can’t wait to share what we captured today.

Feeling ready to help change the world 💪

On International Solo Mother’s by Choice Day (November 17), Dr. Amanda Zayde will be presenting Mothering from the Inside Out.

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Amanda Zayde as a speaker for the 2026 Solo Mothers by Choice Summit.

Dr. Amanda Zayde is an Attending Psychologist and Associate Director of Psychology Internship Training at Montefiore Medical Center, as well as Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

She is the developer and Director of the Connecting and Reflecting Experience (CARE), an attachment-based group parenting program, as well as Associate Training Director of Mothering from the Inside Out.

She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national and international conferences.

Amanda will be speaking on the topic of reflective parenting (mentalizing) and how best to support mothers and parents in fostering secure attachment relationships with their children.
