Idris I (The Founder)
👑 Idris I (8th century) founded the first Moroccan state in 788 — the Idrisid Dynasty — making Fez the heart of Islam in North Africa.

⚔️ Yusuf ibn Tashfin, founder of the Almoravid Empire, united North Africa and Andalusia.

When TariK ibn Ziyad landed in Spain in 711, he burned his ships and told his soldiers:

“Behind you is the sea, and before you is the enemy — there is no escape but victory.”

Abdelkarim Al-Khattabi
Mohammed Ben Abdelkarim al-Khattabi (1882–1963) was a revolutionary leader from the Rif Mountains who led the Rif War against Spanish and French colonial forces in the 1920s.

He established the short-lived Republic of the Rif, becoming a symbol of resistance, unity, and independence across the Arab and African world.

His guerrilla tactics later inspired liberation movements from Vietnam to Algeria.
