A heart that breathes beneath🫀

Formed through roots, tension, and quiet growth,
this piece reflects on what exists below the surface, the unseen systems that sustain life.

Subtle kinetic movements unfold across the form,
on both sides, barely perceptible, like a slow breath or pulse. They resist immediacy, asking you to slow down,
to stay, and to notice.

Like plants, we are held by structures we cannot always see, yet constantly feel.

Held by what we cannot see.

Traces emerges from a childhood memory of making Chinese knots during family dinners, quietly looping and knotting thread while waiting for the adults to finish eating.

These repetitive, meditative gestures are translated into draped fabric, hardened as if suspended in motion. Moving between softness and rigidity, weight and lightness, the work transforms memory into a physical trace of time, movement and making.

Due to unforeseen circumstances sadly, the wonderful Stu of @briastudio is no longer able to take part in the Flower Festival at Strawberry Hill House. He will be much missed but we are delighted to introduce @fflorwear, who applied to our open call back in May and we so pleased that she is able to take part:

‘Claudia Pang is a London based floral and spatial artist and founder of FFLORwear. Her practice moves between floristry and sculpture, exploring flowers beyond traditional arrangements and combining botanical materials with unexpected sculptural elements.

With a background in fine art and costume design, Claudia’s work is often material led, bringing together flowers, found and fabricated structures, fabric, and other materials to explore transformation, movement, and the relationship between natural and constructed forms.
Her practice explores transformation, impermanence and the passage of time,
bringing natural and constructed materials together to create works that continue to shift, change and evolve beyond the moment they are made.’
