Solo Missions, Good Eats, & Tourist Vibes 🇯🇵✌🏽

Wrapped up my 5-week adventure with a solo run around Tokyo—exploring the city, hitting a few parks, shrines, and of course the Tokyo Tower.🗼Had to get some tourist pics and videos along the way (shoutout to the local photographer for snapping a few shots since the crew wasn’t around this time 😎).

A lot of walking, a lot of eating (no complaints)😅 and a lot of great memories made.🙏🏽 Tokyo was the perfect finish to an epic trip. Already looking forward to the next one!

From Running Stairs to Sumo Stares 🇯🇵😎😂

This post is a little all over the place—kind of like me in Tokyo. 😂 Starting off with me running up subway stairs in sandals, trying to burn off all the calories I’ve been ingesting. 😅 Cause, you know, balance. 🫡 While navigating the train tunnels, I stumbled upon some cool art, but the dragon mural? 👀 Straight up badass. 🐉🐲🀄️

Spent a few days just walking around the city, hitting everything from famous streets to random toy shops (this one spot had some high-quality nerd gear 🤓🔥). I also checked out “Memory Lane,” a preserved slice of old Tokyo—tight fit, but the vibes and food? Chefs kiss 😮‍💨🤌🏽. Funny enough, while at one of the restaurants, this 1 Mexican (me) ran into 3 groups of Mexicans from Mexico City 🇲🇽. What are the odds?! 🤣 Pinches chilangos en Japón—always cool running into my people. We had some laughs, ate some incredible food, and proved that Mexicans really get down anywhere we go. 😎🍻

Oh, and I couldn’t resist making a Tokyo Drift reference when I spotted a guy driving a cab who looked just like Han. 👀 Covid hit hard if my boy had to go back to the day job! 😂 Played a piece of the Tokyo Drift here because, let’s be real, watching Tokyo Drift in Tokyo just felt right.

To top it all off, I went to a sumo wrestling match, which was such a cool experience. These guys are huge and legit entertainers. 😂 Snagged a few pics with them afterward—one of the wrestlers who was on our side and won. The funniest shot? He’s looking at me like I’m a snack. 👀 So, naturally: “Get you someone who looks at you the way this sumo wrestler looked at me.” Went thru my head when I saw this so had to share. 😂🤣☠️ (you’re welcome)

Finished off with a random bar find that had a sick bottle setup. Just one more post to go, folks! Thanks for sticking with me—hope you enjoy this one too. ✌🏽😎

Day 2 in Tokyo: Sushi, Scenery, & Surprises 😆🇯🇵

Day 2 in Tokyo started with me packing up & ruck marching my way across the city to check into my next hotel around the downtown Tokyo area. 😅 If you’ve been to Tokyo, you know the train system is the way to go, & after some solid cardio 😮‍💨💪🏽 navigating with my bags, I finally made it! 🙏🏽 The hotel had a nice view of some fancy buildings… no idea what they were, but they looked cool! 😆Tourist life, right?

After burning all those calories, it was time to refuel. Found a sushi spot nearby, & wow, it didn’t disappoint! 🍣 But rookie move—I didn’t understand the ordering process, & the sushi came loaded with wasabi. 🤪 Not one to waste food, I powered through, but trust me, the second round was a firm “no wasabi” situation. 😂 My favorite roll was quite literally fire, as you can see (had to post it twice 🤤🔥).

Once I was stuffed, I walked around aimlessly to see what I’d run into— and stumbled upon Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Even though they were closing soon, I couldn’t pass up the chance to explore. The park was stunning—peaceful, beautiful, & a must-see. 🙏🏽😌 I only covered half of it, so I’ll definitely have to come back someday with more time.

One of my favorite cultural moments came during a train ride: seeing little kids in yellow vests riding the trains & walking the streets solo, either heading to or from school. Such a cool & respectful glimpse into daily Japanese life. 👏🏽

From Travel Day Chaos to Tokyo Nights 🇯🇵

Touchdown in Tokyo! 🛬 Arrived super early in the morning—so early that public transport wasn’t even running yet. 😅 Spent some time at the airport (shoutout to the cool samurai armor display 🛡️) before finally catching a bus to the train station closest to my hotel. But plot twist—got there way too early to check in, so I had about 8 hours to kill. 🤪

Running on zero sleep, I decided to keep it simple: FOOD. First stop? That fluffy cheesecake spot everyone talks about, followed by a bakery nearby—because, why not? 🧁😂 Walked around a bit, not knowing where I was going or what I was doing, just soaking it all in. Oh, and let me tell you, navigating Tokyo’s train system is an adventure in itself. Shoutout to Google Maps for keeping me alive out there! 🗺️💀

Finally checked in, took a much-needed nap, and woke up starving. Found a ramen spot after my original plan fell through—let’s just say it was a whole experience figuring out the order machine. 😂🍜 Had ramen, rice, and dumplings 🥟, which hit the spot, but the best part? They had these plastic chickens you could squeeze on your way out (apparently a tradition). Of course, I had to choke the chicken before leaving—for the culture. 🐔😂

The night didn’t end there. Missed the last train back to the hotel (rookie move 😅) and had to walk an hour back… but at least I got to end the day with Disney fireworks! 🎆

First day in Tokyo was chaotic, exhausting, and full of surprises—but what a start to this adventure. More Tokyo content coming soon—there’s so much to share! ✌🏽😎

From Pho, Sky Decks, & Farewells in Saigon 🇻🇳✨

Our Vietnam adventure took us to the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh, & what a way to wrap up this Southeast Asia tour with the boys! 🥳 We only had about 3.5 days, but we definitely made them count. 🫡

First up, the food… WOW! 🤤 We hit a Michelin-rated pho spot 😮‍💨 Freaking AMAZING!!🔥 So good, we had to go back multiple times. If you’re ever in Saigon, do yourself a favor & check it out—you’ll thank me later. 🍲

We explored the Saigon Sky Deck for some killer city & night sky views 🌃, visited museums to dive into the city’s history, & even stumbled upon a beautiful pink church in the heart of it all. 🤩 Oh & for a little comic relief—my boy Chunky learned about the kids stall in the bathroom the hard way. 👀😂

This was our last stop in S.E.A., & we closed it out the right way. Vietnam 🇻🇳, you were great & will back for some more pho 🍲.

Next & final stop for me? Tokyo! 🇯🇵😎✈️

From Miniature Temples, Monkeys, & Magical Moments 🇰🇭🛕

Our Cambodian adventure kicked off in Siem Reap, diving into the rich history and jaw-dropping architecture. We started at the museum, where I got a sneak peek of Angkor Wat with a mini replica—basically a teaser for the real deal. 👀

The next day, we woke up super early for the sunrise tour at Angkor Wat—the largest temple in the world. 🌄 Rain and clouds stole the sunrise spotlight, but honestly, the peaceful vibes and the beauty of the area still hit different. 🌧️✨

We checked out the iconic temples, including the one with all the faces (Bayon, if I’m remembering right) & the Tomb Raider temple, Ta Prohm—both just as incredible in person as you’d imagine. Oh, & let’s talk about the monkey squad 🐒 at the second temple—they weren’t too interested in posing, but I managed to snap some gems. 🤣 Honestly, we had same vibes (poses) with all the photos & videos we took—tourist life. 🤷🏻‍♂️📸

The entire temple complex is massive—definitely need days to see it all. We hit the main three & soaked in as much as we could, weather challenges & all. Cambodia, you didn’t disappoint. 🙏🏽💎

From Slow Boats, Stunning Views, & Surprise Adventures 🇱🇦😎

Crossing the border from Thailand to Laos marked the start of a chill yet unexpected adventure. First up? Breakfast, where I learned that “pancakes”🥞 sometimes means crepes 😆 but hey, they were delicious! 🤤 Later, we soaked in the sunset vibes along the river & the universe whispered, “Have a beer…”🍻 So that one beer turned into MANY, because why not? Vacation rules! 🥳🤷🏻‍♂️

The next morning, it was time for the 2-day slow boat journey down the Mekong River. 🛶 This relaxing ride gave us incredible views, stops at little villages, & a glimpse into the lives of the beautiful people who call this massive river home. 🙏🏽❤️

After two days of cruising, we arrived in Luang Prabang, ready to explore! First stop? you guest correctly if you said FOOD 🐷 from eating ALL the food to wandering through the small but vibrant town, every moment in Laos was full of good vibes. Though our time there wasn’t enough to fully explore the town and/or the surrounding areas, we still soaked in the magical experience & the wonderful people we met along the way. Laos, you were an unexpected gem. 🙏🏽💎🥳

Wrapping Up Thailand: Tattoos, Temples, & Magic 🇹🇭🛕🪄

My first tattoos—an experience I’ve always said would need to be deeply meaningful—and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction than with Ajarn Tom at Sak Yant Chiang Mai. 🙏🏽 His incredible craft and the family-like environment made this day unforgettable. While he had most of the fun, 😆 I was in a deep meditation 🧠💪🏽😎. Of course my brother from another mother tagged along & got a (painful) session in as well 👀🤣. Big thanks & many blessings to the whole team for making these moment so special! 🤙🏽✨💯

Afterward, we finished up exploring some temples in Chiang Mai we headed off to Chiang Rai to witness the pure magic of the White Temple & Blue Temple—WOW is an understatement! 🤩 And of course, the Big Buddha statue was breathtaking. 😍 What an incredible way to close out our time in Thailand.🙏🏽 ✨

There were so many moments and memories that couldn’t fit into these posts, but maybe one day I’ll share more. Until then, Thailand, you were spectacular. 🙏🏽❤️

😎👀🇹🇭 Batman’s Day Off 🦇🏝️🍹

We found where Batman spends his days off—turns out he’s island-hopping in Phuket on his stealthy speedboat. 🦇😎 Between crystal-clear waters, gorgeous islands, and drinks flowing all day, I can’t say I blame him. 🍹🐠

After living the beach life, we made our way up to Chiang Mai for 6-7 unforgettable days. We ate A LOT of delicious food 😮‍💨😅🤤, explored incredible temples, & spent a day with elephants 🐘 & visiting the national park—an absolutely amazing experience! We even made it to the highest point in Thailand! 🏔️✨

From tasting some of the best (and most interesting 👀) food at the train and floating markets, to soaking in the vibrant energy of Bangkok, this city was nonstop action and flavor. 🍲🍢

We explored, ate, and vibed our way through the heart of Thailand—days packed with culture and adventure, and nights lit up with amazing sights and energy. 🌆😎🥳 Bangkok truly knows how to leave an impression.

My first trip to the other side of the world 🌏🇮🇳😎
From sipping masala chai ☕️ to standing in awe of the Taj Mahal 🕌, this massive country gave us a whirlwind of diversity and unforgettable experiences. 😆🙏🏽

In just 4-5 days, we explored the Taj Mahal, Pink City, Red Fort, and the chaotic charm of Delhi. The food? Let’s just say I’m still recovering from that Chicken Big Mac moment 😅🍔 lol… BUT, the culture, history, and vibes were unreal.

Big shoutout to my boys for being the ultimate travel crew 🫡✌🏽❤️ Would I go back? Maybe after a deep detox 😬, but one thing’s for sure: India is an experience like no other. 🥸💫

Today, we pause to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Memorial Day is more than just a holiday or an extended weekend for fun, BBQs, and vacations. It’s a day to acknowledge the profound bravery and selflessness of countless individuals who gave their lives so that we could live in a world where freedom and opportunity are possible.

In celebrating this day, let’s recognize and respect our diverse beliefs and perceptions of reality. True honor for those who sacrificed everything means living a life worth honoring. Embrace love for all, unity, and a deeper understanding of why we have these precious freedoms today.

So, while we enjoy our gatherings and festivities, let’s also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day. Remember, the best way to honor the fallen is to live our lives with purpose, gratitude, and a commitment to making the world a better place for all.
