Some moments make you stop in your tracks. This is definitely one of them. 🥹✨

I’m still taking it all in, but I’m so incredibly honored to be receiving the Trailblazer Award from Fashion Group International Chicago at this year’s Rising Star Awards during Chicago Fashion Week!

To be recognized for the work I’ve dedicated so much of my life to is truly special. I’ve always believed in creating my own path, following what feels true to me, and hopefully inspiring others to do the same. So to be recognized as a trailblazer, especially here in Chicago, means more than I can really put into words.

And to make this moment even sweeter, I’ll also be serving as the Master of Ceremonies, celebrating some of the incredible talent shaping our city’s fashion community!

I’m just so grateful. For the journey, for the people who have been part of it, and for the opportunity to continue doing what I love. 🤍

Chicago, I’d love to celebrate with you! 🥂

✨ BIG NEWS FOR THE FGI CHICAGO RISING STAR AWARDS! ✨

We are thrilled to announce that Miss Illinois Kate Dimmett (@katedimmett | @missamericail) will join us as a special guest for the 2026 FGI Chicago Rising Star Awards on October 10! 👑✨

Kate will take the stage during our awards presentation to present two special honors: the 2026 FGI Chicago Visual Impact Award to @denisebelyea_photo and the 2026 FGI Chicago Trailblazer Award to @sharaunb. 🏆

Kate’s own story is just as inspiring.

At only 13 years old, she founded Notable Measures, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit promoting youth music education and supporting music education in high-need public schools and community arts organizations.

Through Notable Measures, Kate has raised nearly $100,000, distributed 180 grants to students, schools, and arts programs nationwide, and helped bring music education to more than 50,000 students. She has also led advocacy efforts with state leaders and lawmakers to advance youth music education and studied at the London School of Economics.

We could not be more excited to welcome Kate as we gather to celebrate 15 incredible Rising Star finalists, five Rising Star Award recipients, and two honorary award recipients during Chicago Fashion Week!

I haven’t fully absorbed it yet. And I think that’s okay.

Yesterday I received the FGI Rising Star Award for Fashion Content Creation. And I’m still sitting with what that means.

I’ll be sharing more — a lot more — because I don’t want you to miss a single detail of what yesterday was.

Being in that room was everything. Award or not. @fgichicago creates a space where you can believe your dreams are possible — and if you’ve ever walked a path that’s grueling and isolating and largely of your own invention, you know how rare and necessary that is. Building something you haven’t seen modeled for you, betting on a version of a life you can only half see yet, doing it anyway — that takes a particular kind of courage. And being surrounded by people who not only understand that but celebrate it? That’s everything.

I’m so grateful to FGI Chicago. To this community — my online community, who has been with me every step — thank you. I would not be here without you. Literally.

And to my dear friend and the most extraordinary stylist, @rahelalalala — Rising Star winner in the Stylist category, by the way — thank you for putting me in the actual fit of my dreams for the day I needed it most 🖤

A rising star is still rising. ✨

An afternoon celebrating creativity, community, and the people shaping Chicago’s fashion industry.

Being named a 2026 Fashion Group International Chicago Rising Star finalist in the Fashion Content Creator category is a milestone I’ll always be proud of.

From studying fashion design and interning in Paris to finding my voice through fashion journalism and storytelling, this journey continues to surprise and inspire me.

Congratulations to Brit on her win and to all the incredible finalists and honorees. What a privilege to be in such talented company.

Thank you, FGI Chicago, for the recognition, the connections, and the reminder of why I love this industry.

I’m leaving inspired, grateful, and more determined than ever.
