A beautiful heel is one thing. One you actually enjoy wearing? That earns a place in the closet. 👠

Gifted by @allyshoes, put to the test by a very full fashion calendar.

After a fitting at their Chicago showroom, I wore the Black Leather Classic Pumps from the Chicago Fashion Summit to Grace + Ivory’s SOLO bridal fashion show. Two events in one day, with the perfect classic finishing touch for both.

I also wore them to the FGI Chicago Rising Star Awards, where I was a Fashion Content Creator finalist. A little full-circle detail: ALLY founder Samantha Dong won the Accessories category in 2024. Wearing her design for my own finalist moment felt especially meaningful.

For me, these delivered on comfort and style. And with leather and suede options, plenty of colors, and an inclusive range of sizes and widths, there’s more to explore. Those booties already have my attention. 🤎

This recognition is so well deserved. Sharaun has spent years working tirelessly, building her career, breaking barriers, and making her mark in the fashion industry. It was a beautiful day in Chicago, and I couldn’t have been prouder to witness her receive this incredible honor.

A heartfelt thank you to Fashion Group International Chicago for recognizing Sharaun and her accomplishments. I know how much this award means to her, and it means so much to me to see her hard work and dedication celebrated.

To be recognized as a Trailblazer in my own city means more than I can put into words. 🥹❤️

I’ve spent much of my career celebrating the creativity and accomplishments of others, so to be on the receiving end of one of my first awards for my own contributions is a moment I’ll always cherish.

Thank you, FGI Chicago, for this incredible honor and for recognizing those who continue to create, inspire, and shape the future of our creative community.

Two looks. Different energy. A shared design philosophy.

For the @fgichicago Rising Star Awards, Winny and I wore complementary looks, each with its own energy, yet connected through the design, materials, and purpose behind every piece.

Original designs created from extraordinary Fair Trade handwoven @motif.jackie textiles. My look pairs a top made from 100% recycled fibers with a 100% cotton skirt, while Winny's combines a jacket and pants made from 100% recycled textiles with a 100% cotton peplum top. Each silhouette celebrates the character of the fabric, with thoughtful attention to fit, movement, drape, and the freedom to wear each piece your own way.

From the first idea and original pattern to fittings, construction, and hand-finished details, every garment was created in my studio—with my own two hands, my whole heart, and an engineering brain that believes every detail has a purpose.

Some things simply cannot be rushed. The process is slow, purposeful, and guided by a deep commitment to exceptional design and craftsmanship.

What I especially enjoy is the versatility the collection offers. From resort to dinner and beyond, each piece takes on a different personality through styling, complemented by accessories crafted from the same textiles. Easy to wear, easy to care for, and designed to be enjoyed for years to come.

Behind every original design and remarkable handwoven textile are skilled hands, thoughtful choices, and a commitment to fairness and transparency. Beautiful style can honor them all while putting people and planet first.

I am incredibly grateful to have been selected as a finalist for the @fgichicago Rising Star Award in Fashion Design. The connections and exposure this experience has brought have meant everything to me. Thank you!

GB Fashion: The Home and the World: The First Chicago Indian Fashion Week

Chicago just made fashion history. The city’s first-ever Indian Fashion Week took over @therivvychicago in downtown Chicago, with decor by @hknsevents

Built around the theme The Home and the World, the evening celebrated what happens when heritage and modernity meet. Featured collections came from @thesareeroom , @priyachhabriaofficial , @floral.rupalishete , @privecouture , @accessorize_chicago and @iamfabricdavinci - local and international designers who interpreted contemporary Indian fashion:
Threads of India, Spirit of Chicago.

A special guest at the fireside chat on sustainable fashion was Pramantha Tagore, a living member of the Tagore family, whose literary legacy inspired the theme. Bollywood star and former Miss India UK @official_niharica_raizada then closed the runway in the grand finale. CIFW also supported @bookwallah bringing books and stories to children.

It was a night where Mumbai met Michigan Avenue, and organizers say it is only the beginning. Follow @chicagoindianarts and @chicagoindianfashionweek
