Summer Reading Challenge

All children aged 4-11 are welcome to join the challenge at their local library, starting 4th July.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a free holiday activity for children. It’s all about reading for fun and developing children’s reading skills and confidence. The Challenge runs every year throughout the summer holidays.

Head to your local Lewisham Library with your grown up and ask to join the Summer Reading Challenge. If you don’t have a library card (or can’t find it) don’t worry, we only need to see proof of a parent or guardian’s name and address to sign you up to the library.

Read six books over the summer holidays, tell us what you think about each book and collect fun rewards. You can read anything you like such as stories, illustrated books, information books, graphic novels (comics), dyslexia friendly books, poetry or audiobooks.

Happy a wonderful summer read! 📚 taken in Borough of Lewisham, London by @fhsoc

Fantastic session with Forest Hill Society volunteers to clear the waste ground by Platform 1 at Forest Hill Station on Saturday. We have exciting plans to bring this area to live and provide a green and nature friendly space for everyone to enjoy.

You might even have to change where you wait for your train in the morning 😁

Thank you so much to all those who came to help taken in Forest Hill railway station by @fhsoc

It was so great to be out with the Forest Hill Society this weekend clearing the waste ground behind the station in preparation for some planters and a more pollinator-friendly space 🌿

As Green candidates we’re running because we’re locals who want to make Forest Hill better for everyone, better for our children & future generations, and to look after our community.

Real change is powered by local people and groups like the @fhsoc who care deeply about where we live. This is the community-led impact we want to support and grow 💚

Your neighbourhood. Your voice. Your future.

Forest Hill deserves to be heard. When more of us join together as members of the Forest Hill Society, we become a stronger voice for better transport, green spaces, and local amenities.

Every perspective matters. Every voice counts.
💚 Join us today and help shape the Forest Hill we all want to live in.
