Great to spend an impactful afternoon planning for the future of Forest Hill with the @fhsoc and celebrating an incredible 20 years of their impact, from saving the pools to keeping our amazing library open.

Very excited for how we can support their ambitious proposals to breathe new life into Forest Hill Centre across the next few years.

As always hugely enjoyed chatting to fellow residents - people have fantastic ideas and the best community interventions are always built from the ground up.

If you want to get involved with the @fhsoc now is an exciting time to do so and they’d love to have more people join.

Finally a big thanks to @liamshrivastava for taking the time to join us and giving an inspiring talk on what we hope for the area for 2046 and how to get there.

Here’s to the next 20 years of making Forest Hill a great place to live, and thanks again to the Forest Hill Society for all the effort that went into this super event.

A NEW @gambado_forest_hill has arrived in Forest Hill, South East London.

I really like the other Gambado because you get a fair bit for your money, so naturally, I had to come and try this one.

It cost me £35 for the four of us for two sessions, plus the drinks I brought with me. Which is abit spendy

I did think it was going to be bigger for some reason, but that being said, it was big enough for my two to have a good play.

One thing I will say is that it’s VERY high! So, if you’re like me and scared of heights but have kids who expect you to climb up there with them, you might struggle. Luckily, Dennis went up with them, which explains the crap videos. 😂

I didn’t try the food, but it looked like your usual soft play food, and there was a good amount of seating available.

Overall, it’s another option for a family day out in South East London, and my two had enough space to burn off some energy.

A local screening of the new film from the National Emergency Briefing - a public information initiative on the climate and nature crisis.

📢 A special community screening: The People's Emergency Briefing #PEBuk with a focus on food security and resilience.

What's happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?

Join us for a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather🍞 Food security🏥 Health💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film there will be a short panel discussion with Sareta Puri from Sustain, Cat Flannery from Big Urban Grow and Mel Shakespeare from Foodcycle about what it means for our community and what we can do locally to become more resilient.

We have invited the local MP, Ellie Reeves, and are optimistic that they will join with constituents for this important discussion about our future.

Seats are free but limited so please book in advance.

Bring a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome.

Climate Fresk is a fun, interactive and supportive workshop where a small group works together, piecing together the causes and effects of climate change as they go.

Immensely delighted to present a set of four poetry including the legendary poet Li Bai, titled “Leaving White Emperor City at Dawn” (早發白帝城) to accompany the epic hand painted LianPu - face painting art exhibition currently showcasing at @canvasandcreamse23

Completed with ink on paper, deeply & inspired by my ESEA heritage and the world of operatic facial art. While the Lian-Pu art (operatic facial painting) tells a story of the powerful warlords, the tragic King & his ultimate love to the wild & untamed spirit of golden monkey, the poems transforming the emotional energy into beautiful literary rhythms.

This collection is currently exhibited at @canvasandcreamse23 in celebration of ESEA heritage month.

You are warmly invited to visit the exhibition from now or join me at the private viewing on 17th of September 6-8 pm. I would love to know which one you most resonate with!

“Spirit of the Season” exhibition contains eight pieces of art work by @artcarryhornby. The four pairings of ‘Four Gentlemen’ with ‘Four Seasons’ are now open at Forest Hill Library!

This exhibition opening also coincides with the annual Sydenham Artists Trail @sydenhamartsofficial as our South East London community celebrates local creativity over the next two weekends. You are warmly welcomed to stop by the library to explore the artwork during library opening hours.

There are also mindful calligraphy sessions led by @artcarryhornby, you can also book into the workshop via bio link.
