📣 AP Exam Opt-Out Reminder

FCPS will pay the fees for a student’s first six AP/IB exams for courses in which they’re enrolled for high school credit. Students taking an AP exam without enrolling in the corresponding FCPS course are responsible for the fee. Additional AP exams cost $99 each, and fees are nonrefundable.

Students are encouraged to take the exams for their AP/IB courses, but they may opt out using a school-provided form. Students received a report of their previous test history and current AP/IB enrollment during Lion Time on Friday, October 9, to help with their decisions.

Two important steps are due October 30:
- Register for every AP exam connected to your AP course in AP Classroom, even if you plan to opt out. Your AP teacher has shared instructions. Late registration may result in a $40 fee.
- Submit your opt-out decisions. Student accounts will be billed in December for exams beyond the six FCPS-funded tests.
Students who do not register by March 12 will not be able to take the exam, and applicable exam fees will not be refunded.

🦁 Roar Round Up is back!

Fairfax High School families are invited to mini Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 2, from 8:30–11:30 a.m. in the cafeteria and commons.

Teachers will be seated by department and listed alphabetically, with signs to help you find them. When it’s your turn, you’ll have about 4–6 minutes to talk with each teacher. You can arrive anytime during the event, and your visit may take about 20–30 minutes if there are no lines.

We look forward to seeing you! by @fhsstudentservices

This Thanksgiving, help make room for joy—not hunger—at the table. 🍂

Many families in Northern Virginia are struggling to afford the basics. A $50 donation to Food For Neighbors provides a grocery gift card, giving a family the freedom to choose the foods that make their holiday traditions special.

Your support brings more than nourishment—it shares hope and a sense of belonging. Join us in helping local families enjoy a holiday meal.
