🇬🇭 Help FHU Nursing Make a Lasting Impact in Ghana! ❤️

In January 2027, FHU Nursing will return to Village of Hope (VOH) in Ghana with a specific mission: provide CPR and First Aid training to nearly 50 educators and house parents who care for children across the VOH campus.

Last January, we certified 33 HCH staff members in American Heart Association Basic Life Support. This year, we want to take the next step—not just provide training, but leave the equipment in Ghana so the training can continue long after we return home.

💲 $1,000 equips a complete CPR training station with:
• 2 adult manikins
• 2 infant manikins
• 2 AED trainers

Our goal is to help create sustainable access to lifesaving CPR, AED, and First Aid education for Village of Hope, as well as the Nursing program at Heritage Christian University in Accra—equipping them to eventually train others.

🙏 Would you consider helping us equip a training station—or contributing toward one? Every gift, regardless of size, moves us closer to that goal.

Donations can be made by scanning the QR code or mailing to:

We believe God has opened a wonderful opportunity for FHU Nursing to serve others while helping build something that can continue making a difference for years to come.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support. God bless! 🇬🇭❤️ by @fhunursing

So thankful for Delta Dental for their generous contribution to our Nursing Skills Lab!! We are thankful for Missy Acosta from Delta Dental for considering us for their "60 Smiles Campaign", and thankful to our Clinical Instructor, Shelby Biggs, for initially making the connection with them. Their gift of a functional headwall has enriched the teaching/learning experience for our Nursing students.

Special thanks to Pennie Smallwood, Jane Butterfield, and Emily Pearson, representing Delta Dental, for attending our ceremony to recognize Delta Dental for their generosity.

Please take a moment today to reflect upon those innocents that lost their lives on that day, the first responders and average every day people that willingly sacrificed themselves to aid others, our service members that went abroad to combat those who did us harm, and those that have been suffering from the effects of that day even now, 25 years later.

Let us all remember the unity we felt and the resolve we had to protect and preserve our nation and what we value in the days that followed. Let us rekindle that spirit, not because a national tragedy urges us to it, but because we recognize the tremendous gift and blessing we have in being part of this nation.

Let us never forget.

Wow! Our graduates are truly a blessing to us and to those they care for and work for!! Isaac Amar ('26), is growing in the profession and has shared his recent research, as well as some very kind words regarding the preparation he received in our program.

Isaac works on the Burn Unit at Regional One and recently completed a research project for his unit. He shared with us, "As I worked through the literature review, PICOT question, and presentation of the evidence, I found myself using a lot of what I
learned from y'all about evidence based practice and how to evaluate and present research in a meaningful way." Additionally, he shared, "I’m very grateful for the foundation you all gave me in EBP, and .... It was very rewarding to apply those skills to something directly related to my current nursing practice, and I thought you might enjoy seeing where that teaching has carried forward."

Isaac, we are thankful for you, for your work, and for sharing these encouraging thoughts with us. We look forward to hearing more about your career and the impact you have as you are serving others in God's kingdom.
