A little intro post to what it’s like being a writer living with MECFS (and endo but that’s for another post) 🤍 I’ve had MECFS since a covid infection in late 2021, and it has shifted to varying degrees of intensity over the last five years. At the moment it is ‘mild’ which still means about 30% the life quality of a healthy person. So I am always tired in a way sleep and rest can’t fix, always pacing in case something will tip me over another edge and make it worse 🌝 so when anyone comes at the Gen AI conversation about it making art ‘accessible’ to disabled people, I go straight into fight mode 🫩

DMs always open for any other chronically ill spoonies 🫶🏼

Despite releasing in the same week, these two upcoming fantasy debuts couldn’t be more different! ✨Let’s compare, because fantasy is a spectrum.✨

⚔️Ballad of the Silver Branch By @r.c.collinsauthor
The Cruel Prince meets Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries meets Outlander.
Róisín never meant to cross the veil into Tír na nÓg, let alone become bound to a mysterious sídhe prince after he saves her life.
Now, she must find the legendary Silver Branch and a way home, all while navigating dangerous fae, ancient magic, deadly bargains, and political intrigue. But in a world full of secrets, finding her way back might be more complicated than she ever imagined.

🐉Quiet Gods by @fiadh.melina
Gen-V meets The Handmaid’s Tale in QUIET GODS, a coming-of-rage dystopian fantasy with an MC who vows vengeance after an empire-funded priesthood takes away everything they’ve ever cared for. With the power of a shapeshifting daemon in their DNA, Ellie has more than enough strength to bring complete ruination, unless grief destroys them first.

“I can fix them.”
No Raeia. No you can’t.
Raeia has strong Virgo energy. Sapphire (Ellie) is Aries. Do what you will with that. 🌝

(Not the main romance subplot in this trilogy but still an important relationship/friendship/something)

99c pre-orders until September 13! After that it will go up to 2.99 to match kobo 🛍️

wip sneakpeak 🤍

Subter is one I’ve been noodling in my head for a couple years and I’ve gotten a some chapters down and a loose outline. It takes place in the same world as Quiet Gods, and ‘Subter’ (the underground city) is mentioned a couple of times by Sapphire 👀 you might even get to meet Ophelia and Whelan in Quiet Gods 2 👀

I think ima write standslones from now on 🌝

The winner of my giveaway is @fiadh.melina, congrats!! ✨🎉

I had the pleasure to paint Raeia, who has such an interesting concept! The composition slowly turned into a full illustration because I got so inspired to study some pre-raphaelite paintings, in particular: "I Am Half-Sick of Shadows" by Waterhouse, one of my fav masters! 💕

Thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway in July 🥰 It took me a while to finish and I apologize for that; you all have so many amazing characters!

I hope everyone is having a great week and are getting ready for Halloween 👀🎃
