🫂 Found Family
💫 Chaotic Queers
🤍 Disabled MC

✨✨✨

Sapphire has known only two things in their twenty-three years of life: betrayal and ruin. In Quiet Gods, they discover vengeance. Genetically modified with the DNA of a shapeshifting daemon – the mythical daeshu Saohl – Sapphire ‘Ellie’ Blake has been primed for the government’s military ranks from a young age. That is, until their family home goes up in unexplained flames and Sapphire is incarcerated for a crime they didn’t commit.

Sapphire’s sentence is decided: conscription as an Aitos to the Kagosae, a showcase and hunting ground for the Tassurian military; and a job to kill the Kagosae’s most treasured Aitos, Dion Kestales. One issue stands in Tassuri’s way. Sapphire is pregnant with an ‘illegitimate child’, and is shipped to the Arabella until they are deemed useful again. They meet Raeia, a scholar who is bound to The Arabella island, a mother and baby home used to launder unwanted babies. In defiance of Tassurian laws, Raeia secretly curates a library filled with banned books and mythologies.

But Tassuri’s plans for Sapphire won’t matter if their rage devastates the world first. When Sapphire’s baby does not survive the Arabella, and Sapphire becomes aware of the dabbling of a new empire, their need for vengeance smothers all else. Sapphire, severely disabled from their incarceration, creates an uneasy alliance with Dion Kestales and together, their connections to the arcane Lost Science threatens to destroy Tassuri’s curated reality of the past eight centuries.

Despite releasing in the same week, these two upcoming fantasy debuts couldn’t be more different! ✨Let’s compare, because fantasy is a spectrum.✨

⚔️Ballad of the Silver Branch By @r.c.collinsauthor
The Cruel Prince meets Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries meets Outlander.
Róisín never meant to cross the veil into Tír na nÓg, let alone become bound to a mysterious sídhe prince after he saves her life.
Now, she must find the legendary Silver Branch and a way home, all while navigating dangerous fae, ancient magic, deadly bargains, and political intrigue. But in a world full of secrets, finding her way back might be more complicated than she ever imagined.

🐉Quiet Gods by @fiadh.melina
Gen-V meets The Handmaid’s Tale in QUIET GODS, a coming-of-rage dystopian fantasy with an MC who vows vengeance after an empire-funded priesthood takes away everything they’ve ever cared for. With the power of a shapeshifting daemon in their DNA, Ellie has more than enough strength to bring complete ruination, unless grief destroys them first.

The winner of my giveaway is @fiadh.melina, congrats!! ✨🎉

I had the pleasure to paint Raeia, who has such an interesting concept! The composition slowly turned into a full illustration because I got so inspired to study some pre-raphaelite paintings, in particular: "I Am Half-Sick of Shadows" by Waterhouse, one of my fav masters! 💕

Thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway in July 🥰 It took me a while to finish and I apologize for that; you all have so many amazing characters!

I hope everyone is having a great week and are getting ready for Halloween 👀🎃

upcoming(ish) books i cannot WAIT to read !!! 🥳

bound by the alien buckaroo by ursa dax 👽🤠

BLURB:
A black-listed bounty hunter in hiding, a bizarre alien buckaroo, and some rather frantic forced proximity...

I’ve spent the last eight years chasing scumbags to the ends of the universe in my job as a bounty hunter. Until the day there’s suddenly a new bounty on my head. But the bounty is fake. I’ve been framed. And now my entire life is falling apart.

I try to hide out on an isolated planet with a no-landing order, only to get tangled up with the strangest man I’ve ever met. His name is Xennet.

And if I want to survive on this planet, it looks like I’ll need to rely on him.

Except it turns out Xennet is precisely the same sort of person I’ve devoted my life to putting behind bars - a murderer.

And worse than that?

I’m developing feelings for this shuldu-riding, cowboy-hat-wearing, knife-obsessed convict.

I can’t stay with him. There’s only so long I can hide from this planet’s wardens and avoid capture.

And there’s only so long until Xennet marries someone else.

Because his promised human bride is coming.
And she’s coming soon.
