Thank YOU for being part of the farm this season. On Saturdays, you came to shop Fibonacci Farm at the Farmers Market and on Wednesdays, many of you came out to the farm to pick up your CSA share. You kept a small Central Oregon farm growing and put food on your table that was grown just a few miles from home … how amazing is that!

Being a CSA member is always more than a box of vegetables. Your share is how we plan our fields, pay our crew and keep growing through the off-season. Together, we’re building a food system that works for our community.

And we’re not stopping for winter.

Winter CSA, at your door ~ for the first time ever!Five Friday home deliveries, Dec 11 through Feb 26th. Greens from our greenhouses: spinach, kale, chard, mustard, lettuce mix, Asian greens, arugula and herbs! Storage crops from our partner farms Boundless Farmstead and Rooper Ranch: carrots, onions, garlic, parsnips, squash, daikon and potatoes.

Capped at 60 households, and more than half the spots are already taken.

Join us, for our 2026 Winter CSA ❤️

Happy Friday Fibonacci farm community!

From farmer Aaron: “Sadly, This is the last week of the Summer 2026 CSA. It has been so rewarding growing food for you all this year. 💛

This season definitely presented its challenges, but overall I feel strongly that it was a great success! Sure, some crops did better than others, but that is actually one of the reasons why I love doing this so much is because every year there are lessons learned that will be applied in future growing years and there is always so much to learn. Never boring. Frustrating sometimes, yes. But, never boring.

Here’s a doozy — This week after managing to keep the deer out of the garden the entire season with my newly constructed electric fence, they finally made it in. They feasted on nearly every head of lettuce, much of the broccolini, all of the strawberries and trampled through every greenhouse making a mess of all the freshly prepped beds that I’ll be planting in this weekend.

Today, we put heavy frost cloth on everything that remains growing in the garden because Sunday and Monday nights are supposed to dip into the twenties so it is possible that we could see some damage on certain crops despite our best efforts.

Thanks again for joining us this year — it has honestly been a real pleasure connecting with you all through our produce and flowers and it is always so great seeing everyones smiling faces during pickups :)

P.S. There are only a dozen or so Winter CSA shares left so hop on it if you don’t want to miss out!”

POV: you have fresh garlic, onions, and ginger from @fibonacci_farm + wildflower honey from @broadusbees. What do you make?

🪄✨ FIRE CIDER 🫚🍯

Ingredients:

3 small Fib Farm garlic
2 medium onions
1 1/2 cups horseradish root (coarsely chopped)
1 cup of fresh Fibonacci Farm ginger (coarsely chopped)
1/2 cup fresh turmeric root (coarsely chopped)
1 tablespoon ground cayenne
8 cups apple cider vinegar
2 oranges
2 large pomegranates
3/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
1¼ cups honey

DIRECTIONS:
(& also p.s ~ you will need a chunk of time 😉 - maybe do this on a Sunday?)

Prep the roots: Peel the garlic and coarsely chop the onions, horseradish, ginger, and turmeric.

Blend: Working in two batches, blend the chopped roots and cayenne with enough apple cider vinegar to cover. Keep the lid on and avoid the fumes.

Heat: Transfer into a pot on the stove. Add the remaining vinegar. Cover and heat gently for 3 hours. Stir occasionally.

Adjust: After about 2 hours, taste and add more cayenne/spicy herbs if you’d like✨.

Prep the fruit: Peel and section the oranges. Remove the pomegranate seeds. Mash the oranges and pomegranate seeds together.

Add hibiscus (I left this part out but will try hibiscus next time) + fruit: After 3 hours, turn off the heat. Add the hibiscus and mashed fruit. Let sit for 1 hour. Add more hibiscus if you want a deeper red color.

Strain: Strain through cheesecloth, pressing firmly to extract the liquid. Do not use bare hands.

Add honey 🍯: Stir in local honey until completely dissolved.

Store: Pour into sterilized glass jars, label, and refrigerate. **The recipe says it will keep for up to 1 year.

Dosage: 1 teaspoon as needed.

Important: keep refrigerated and discard if you notice mold or off-smells.

For the full unedited version + other amazing concoctions, head to the @deschuteslibrary and pick up a fire cider book from Rosemary Gladstar ✨

Enjoy & happy October! taken in Bend, Oregon by @fibonacci_farm

Soup season x Fibonacci Farm & Broadus Bees Honey 🥕🍯

So, you got carrots, fennel, and garlic in your CSA basket or picked up fresh ginger from the farmers market yesterday. Now what? Make THE BEST (and easiest) soup of course!

🥕Carrot Fennel Soup:

7 carrots chopped big
Half of one giant onion chopped big
2 tbsp fresh ginger cut fine
3 cloves garlic chopped
1 fennel bulb chopped large

Sauté onion, garlic, fennel in instant pot for 5 minutes in olive oil!
Then, throw in carrots and 2 1/2 cups veggie broth. Plus a pinch of coarse sea salt, a spoon full of @broadusbees honey, and a little garlic powder. Press pressure and set to 12 minutes!

Release air slowly and then blend lightly in blender!

Now, dish up. 😌🍜 Top with pumpkin seeds, fresh parm & some pepper flakes or triple threat hot sauce if you like a little spice!

Don’t forget a slice of @mill_fire_baking sourdough. Enjoy 🧡 taken in Bend, Oregon by @fibonacci_farm
