This is a topic that I never thought that I would talk about, but over the past few weeks has felt incredibly important to. A few weeks ago we had a miscarriage, which has been heartbreaking- something we really wanted and had just started to really comprehend and plan for but was not to be.

I think one thing throughout this process that we have learned and found comfort in is how common this is, it happens to so many people and it is something people don’t often talk about because it is so hard. So we’re trying to be open about it, which is why I’m posting about it- to highlight that people go through this especially in early pregnancy. But also because I don’t know how to post without being open about the things that I’m struggling with, I can’t just sweep this experience under the rug and continue on like ‘normal’ you know?

So this is why I’ve been a little quiet this year, and something I’m going to be healing from and trying to really process for a while 🤍 by @fictionalmusings

made a lil tbr post based on the colours of my pantone birth chart! 🤍

i saw this idea from @anonbookgirl and loved it so spent the afternoon going up to my shelves and holding the different colours up to books which was actually quite fun and i’m so proud of the match on some of these! 🥰

what was the last book you bought? 📖

these were the books i bought back from the UK with me last time i went home! and all but the daisy chain flower shop were bought airside so i didn’t have to give up any space in my suitcase 😂 it can be so hard to get new books out here so i love picking them up when i go home! i think out of all of these i’m most intrigued by project hail mary (i still haven’t seen the film yet 👀) but i adored the martian when i read it in 2019 and loved the film but over the years i’ve been so bad at getting around to andy weir’s other books! 😅

i was going to do a short recap in photos but it turns out i actually took a ton of pics this month… oops
may was a good month, i managed to visit my family in the UK, run every single day (!!), see the return of the yerevan i love (aka its spring and cafe culture is back baby) and see the dog that we rescued go to a good shelter! it was definitely an emotional month but i loved it, and i feel really good entering into june and the summer - especially now that i’m on the last book in the throne of glass series! i’m really enjoying it but i am so excited to read something else once this series is done!!

oops i accidentally took a bit of a unintentional hiatus from posting 😅

i think because i’ve been posting on stories everyday i just kinda forgot that i haven’t actually uploaded anything in a while so hi i’m alive!! here’s a pic of a gorgeous cat on top of my favourite sculpture in yerevan, a throne of books that sits outside of the children’s library 🥰 i was so happy when i saw this cat there that i had to put down all my shopping and stroke it and take a lil pic!

i’m running 50k this may 🏃🏻‍♀️

after experiencing the heartbreak of miscarriage earlier this year and feeling so isolated during that time and relying a lot on online advice, i want to do something about it and every year i get so unbelievably inspired by the people running the @londonmarathon so when i saw @sandscharity pop up after with this challenge i just knew i had to take part.

the reasons i want to undertake this are threefold, firstly i want to feel like i can do something. having a miscarriage makes you feel so powerless and helpless, and running is something i know i can do- i know i can raise some money for a good cause and even if it is a drop in the bucket, it’s me doing something. secondly, for my own mental health, there are some days where i find it hard to get out of the house so i’m hoping this will get me into a place where i feel stronger. and finally, i also want to work on my physical fitness, and i’m hoping this will help there too by doing a little bit every day working up to 50k in the month 🏃🏻‍♀️

happy hump day 🐪

this week has been hard, i’ve had the worst sleep recently so every day i just feel so sluggish and tired all the time, but the sun is out and as we approach the second half of the week i have lots of things to do so i’m hoping i’ll pick up!

i also really want to read more of empire of storms because i want to get through as much of the series as i can before i come back to the UK so i don’t have to carry lots of books with me! 😅

do you recommend the tandem read? 👀

i am absolutely flying through the throne of glass series now that the pace feels like it’s picking up and so i need to know if people actually do the tandem read their first time because honestly? not sure my brain can cope with it but also could help me read their series quicker as i have so many books i want to read soon! so i need your help deciding if you’re an SJM expert 🫡
