Kalve Espresso Room Tatari interior project, located in the heart of Tallinn, is rooted in a deep respect for Estonian interwar interior design and the architectural language of Northern European Functionalism, also known as Nordic Funkis. The space is situated in a building on Pärnu mnt 27, built in 1937. Reflecting a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design, the interior responds to the building’s structural rhythm and the aesthetic principles of its era and buildings facade itself.

Archive of Lost Plants

This interior concept is a dedication to plants that once existed, long before us. Thousands of years ago, when there were no records or testimonies, and the earth itself was the only entity capable of remembering them.

They are not preserved in catalogues or herbaria. They do not exist in any document or name. Only as intuitions, dreamlike images, echoes within landscapes, memories that can no longer be written down.

There are no biological reconstructions here. No attempt to define. Only forms that stimulate the imagination: shadows, impressions in metal, embroidery in fabric, and optical illusions. Nothing is concrete - everything is sensation.

We perceive the world not only through our eyes, but through the body, experience, and presence.
Therefore, this installation is not created for observation, but for experience.

The aim is not to reconstruct a plant, but to create an environment in which one may ask:
What else was here before us?

What does nature remember, even when we no longer can?

A 200-year-old hotel, with a different colour character from room to room.

At Ausma Hotel in Kuldīga, Latvia, the palette was developed in response to the town itself — its landscape, old materials and changing light.

Different Bauwerk colours were used throughout the guest rooms, while Wander carries through the historic public spaces. The warmer terracotta room is painted in Casa, with the wider palette moving through soft beige, greyed and blue-grey tones.

We love how naturally the colours sit alongside old timber, stone, linen and the changing daylight — giving each space its own character while still belonging to the same place.

Ausma interior, created by @field___studio , is rooted in preserving the building’s historic layers. Preserving and revealing its evolution over time. Interior was developed in collaboration with local craftsmen. The spaces combine layered design with carefully curated furniture, art, and objects, using natural materials including lime plaster, wood, stone, and metal. Each guest room has its own identity, inspired by Kuldīga’s landscape and local character.

Set within a 200 year old building in the UNESCO Old Town of Kuldīga, Ausma Hotel is a transformation where heritage meets contemporary design. The interiors of Ausma Hotel were designed to be felt.

The concept of Kalve interior in Lisbon addresses a vital question: is traditional craftsmanship disappearing, or is it undergoing an evolution?

This concept explores the meeting point between traditional Portuguese craft and contemporary design: woodworking, ceramics, textiles and stonework become part of a modern spatial language.

We are not recreating history, but reinterpreting it, showing how inherited knowledge continues to shape the way we design today.

The identity of @ausmahotel was created as an extension of the house itself, inspired by the character of a more than 200-year-old building in Kuldīga’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.

Rather than recreating history, we translated it into a contemporary visual language through minimal typography, tactile materials, embossed details and a restrained colour palette. The historic date 1829 became a symbol of continuity, connecting the building’s heritage with its new chapter.

The identity spans every guest touchpoint, creating a cohesive experience rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship and quiet elegance.

A first preview of our latest project in Lisbon.
Here we explore the role of craftsmanship in the modern world, asking how traditional crafts can evolve and remain relevant in contemporary design.

Most of the interior elements were created in collaboration with woodworkers, weavers, metalworkers, ceramicists, art students, skilled craftspeople.

Rather than recreating traditional crafts, the project creates a dialogue between tradition and modern technology. Natural materials, handcrafted details, the beauty of imperfection come together.

The full project will be on our website soon.

Nearly 200 years old, historic building in the heart of Kuldīga has undergone a thoughtful restoration.

For this project we shaped all layers of its identity from naming, branding to interior design, in search for balance between the building’s historical character and contemporary hospitality.

Decisions were guided by respect for local craftsmanship, the spirit of the house, and the traces left by time.
