Autumn is my favorite time of year!

Summer is too hot and the days are way too long. Winter is too cold and the days are too short. Spring means work starts again, and autumn is when I can finally slow down a little.

It’s always the same rhythm - long walks, crying a little, swimming, overthinking, yoga, cozy evenings, feeling grateful, sad, empty, staying less on social media and away from people… you know, the usual.😔

I just love this bittersweet melancholic time of year!

Our first retreat at Brijuni National Park… and wow, what a place!

The nature is so beautiful, everything is so green and peaceful, and somehow it feels like time has stopped there. I felt this sense of peace the moment we arrived.

Walking around and feeling a little bit of another time - the history, the old paths, the beautiful nature… it all just makes you slow down and enjoy the moment.

I’m so happy we got to do our first retreat here, and even happier for all of you who joined us and made it so special! 😘

And yes, we’re coming back next year - with even more ideas, more fun and hopefully many familiar faces!

The night is the time when I sit quietly and run through my thoughts.

Tonight, I managed to process the entire last week and somehow put it all together in a one-minute video.

12 strangers who purposely decided to make this happen.

It’s funny how it’s always at the end that we realise just how much fun we had: the little moments, the laughs, the movement, the conversations, the sunsets, and everything in between.

And I have a feeling there will be many more of these coming. 🌬️

Our Shala for the week.
Brač Island, Croatia 2026

I was personally craving some slow-paced time, to savour the days as they deserve to be lived. And I’m sure many of us on board with the retreat were feeling the same.

Waking up and having the mind freed from what’s coming within the next few hours is a blessing. Taking the time to taste your morning drink with all five senses is definitely a sign of presence and mindfulness - and yes, we probably overuse these words, but they amplify their meaning when you truly experience them, when you feel them, right?

And what a privilege to lose ourselves moving in an open-air Shala facing the Adriatic coast, and to sweat just by doing nothing, as you’re pleasantly overwhelmed by the humidity of this wonderful place.

14 women. 9 countries. From solo travelers to lifelong friends - and somehow, yoga brings us all together. 🤍

Once again, I’m amazed by the power of this practice to create connection, community, and unity across borders. Yoga truly unites people. 🧘‍♀️

It’s never just about the place.

As a yoga retreat organiser, I get emails all the time from beautiful villas, hotels and retreat spaces around Croatia and beyond.
Come and host your retreat with us!
And yes, there are some truly beautiful places.

But over the years, I’ve realised something about myself:

I keep returning to the same places.

Not because they have the fanciest rooms.
Not because they are the most luxurious.

But because I care about who is behind them.

On Brac, there are people who have been there for generations - people who genuinely care about what they do and about the place they have created.

The Pakleni Islands are connected to my former partner’s family, and to dear friends who have become part of my life.

Ekodrom is my friend Marko and the wonderful community around him - people who share many of the same values and the same way of seeing life.

And Brijuni is a family story of my own.

Different places. Different stories.
But the same thing keeps bringing me back:

People who care.

Of course, I want a comfortable bed.
A beautiful space.
Good food.
A place where we can practice yoga.

But that is only part of it.
I want to know the people who welcome us.
Who takes care of the place.
What they believe in.
What kind of energy surrounds it.

Because when I bring you somewhere, I’m not just bringing you to a beautiful villa.

I’m bringing you into someone’s world.
And I want that world to feel good.

Maybe that’s why I don’t move around as much as you might expect.
But I keep going back to the ones where I know the people, trust the energy and feel a little bit at home.

Because for me, a retreat has never been just about the place.
It’s about the people behind it!

And perhaps that is what makes a place truly beautiful.

Brijuni is more than a place to me! 🌻

My grandparents met here.

During the Second World War, they both came to Pula to work for Tito, and this is where their story began.

My father and my uncle were born on Brijuni and lived there until they were six, in a house that today is ethnographic museum.

So I grew up with stories of Brijuni…

Stories of its golden years- the 1960s, when the island became a meeting place for presidents, artists and movie stars.

Sophia Loren.
Richard Burton.
Elizabeth Taylor.
Gina Lollobrigida.

Long summer days. Famous guests. Old Yugoslavia.

Indira Gandhi even gave Tito an elephant - Lanka, who still lives on Brijuni today.( i feel sorry for Lanka because her long time partner died).

And somehow, when I come here now, I can still feel traces of that time.

The enormous pine trees.
The perfectly kept lawns.
Deer and peacocks wandering freely.
The old hotels, with their faded elegance.
The little details that make you feel as though you have stepped into another decade.

It is not the fanciest place I have ever been.

But there is something incredibly romantic about it.

And perhaps that is why I wanted to bring you here.

22–26 September · Brijuni

Four nights of yoga, movement, stillness, good food, long lunches and the simple pleasure of having nowhere else to be.

Beyond the Generic Yoga Retreat

We are all evolving, even Yoga is evolving, our needs are evolving. Not necessarily into more, but into something deeper. People are seeking experiences with depth, authenticity, and meaning—something I have always believed in from the very beginning. Yoga is not wellness, Yoga is an experience.

Yoga, meditation, and pranayama are part of my retreats, but we as a team of like-minded friends and cooperation partners - named Manu & Sasha - believe, that lasting transformation comes from the people, the connections they create, and the sense of community they experience.
