Join Fight CRC in Washington, DC, March 1–2, 2027, to advocate for the research and policies our community needs. This year, researchers will gather nearby for the Global Early Onset Colorectal Cancer Think Tank (GEOCRCTT), connecting research priorities with our calls for action.

Tomorrow is World Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Day, so here’s a peek behind the curtain on some things that have become the norm since diagnosis in July 2023.

Pills. Lots of them. From oral steroids and antibiotics to painkillers and blood thinners, each day starts and ends with a healthy dose of medication.

Treatment. Whether it’s travel to NC for a clinical trial or radiation locally, multiple appointments each week has become routine.

Working from home. Treatment has taken a toll over the past 3+ years, so I’m grateful to have the flexibility to WFH regularly.

Family. A late stage cancer diagnosis forces a change in perspective - in my experience, this has been a change for the better. It has allowed us to focus on the things that truly matter in life, e.g., the kids, new experiences, travel, while tuning out the noise.

Podcasting. When I was first diagnosed, hope was difficult to come by - there was a lot of negativity floating around online forums and the internet, writ large. It was Kate’s idea to compile the stories, experiences, and sources of strength of cancer survivors who had lived 5+ years after diagnosis.
