2nd place out of 13,694 applications at Build What Moves India, the @openai x @thevarunmayya hackathon. 4 months ago, we could not write a line of code.

We built Atithi, a rebuild of India’s e-Visa application for the millions of foreign travellers who meet India first through a government form. A problem no Indian ever feels, because we never have to use it. Our guests do.

Four months of learning to code with Codex and ChatGPT. Nights, wrong turns, the same screen rebuilt until it felt right. Then a room of 10 finalist teams, and we walked out second.

Thank you @openai , Codex and @chatgptindia for the room. Thank you to our mentor Chirag Oswal (GTM - OpenAi) for feedback we went back and worked on line by line.

If we could do this in 4 months with zero coding background, the barrier is not skill anymore. It is whether you care enough about a problem to keep going.

Comment “Atithi” to get the platform link. Had so much fun building this. Took India’s decade-old government e-Visa portal and rebuilt it end to end, frontend, backend, the whole system. Challenging, but genuinely one of the most fun builds we’ve done.
