Hi, I’m Em! Some of you may have met me, some may have heard me cackling through the walls in clinic and well, some of you may have no idea who I am, so I thought I’d pop my face on your feed and let you know a little bit more about fika and why I started it.

Whilst fika opened its doors in 2022, I’ve actually been working full time as a cosmetic injector since 2016. If you asked baby-Em (fresh out of a nursing degree in 2010) where I’d be in ten years’ time, I never would’ve believed we’d be down the path of cosmetic injectables (self-professed goober, didn’t believe in cleanser, terrible top-deck hairdo – yikes!)

Candidly, I fell into aesthetics whilst navigating my own battles with self-esteem. After an introduction to the most subtle of treatments, I recognised the power a tweak here or there could have on someone’s self-worth; an aesthetic adjustment with the ability to improve the way I viewed myself - I felt empowered, excited, and wanted to help others feel the same!

So why “fika”? I created fika as an inclusive space of warmth, a place of joy. I don’t just strive for results in terms of conventional beauty, but for clients to find that same connection to their inner (beautiful) self that I had. Our space is purpose-built; stress and judgement-free, a home-like environment where you can take a breath, feel valued, have a chat, a laugh, or simply treat yourself to some downtime and a dopamine hit (snacks!).

In Swedish custom, “fika” is a break from activity during which people drink coffee, eat cakes (or in this case, Haigh’s chocolate hearts) and relax with those closest to them. Our version of “fika” embodies self-care; invaluable time out for yourself, a selection of treats at the ready, and permission to give yourself the break you deserve.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you, and we always look forward to welcoming you into the clinic 🫶🏽

If your plans change, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Per our cancellation policy, changes made within this window will incur a $100 cancellation fee.

This policy helps us make the most of our appointment times and offer them to clients on our waitlist (especially coming into event season!).
