Kofi Peprah Gyamfi is born into dust and poverty in a small Ghanaian village where becoming a doctor is not a dream, it's a fantasy. As a child, he walks 10 miles barefoot to a school with no roof, learning by chalk and memory while battling chronic illness that almost kills him. While others drop out to farm, Kofi stays studying under a kerosene lamp, driven by one question: "Why do our people die from things that can be cured? "At 18, with no money and no connections, he makes an impossible decision to leave everything he knows for Germany, a cold country where he knows no one and speaks little of the language. Germany is not the promised land. It's a new battlefield. Kofi faces freezing winters, racist landlords who won't rent to him, professors who doubt an African village boy can survive medical school, and the crushing loneliness of being the only Black student in the lecture hall. He works nights cleaning hospitals to pay his fees, fails exams, is told to go home but he refuses to break. His resilience becomes his weapon. He learns the system, masters the language, and graduates not just as a doctor, but as proof that talent exists everywhere, opportunity does not. At the height of his success, life tests him again in London. He meets a young, angry Black British boy who is ready to quit school because "the system is not for us." A young man is released from prison and has to face up to the lie that his estranged daughter has been led to believe – that he was in space. On the day of his release from prison, young father Obi must reunite with his estranged daughter Ife and finally face up to the lie that she has been led to believe - that he was in space. Obi arrives at the vibrant Nigerian café owned by Tola, Obi’s partner and mother to Ife, dressed in an orange spacesuit and helmet; an attempt to stretch his deception just long enough to build a relationship with his hopeful daughter.
