Structured breath - move - test - reset

As the sun was setting, I improvised through it as a progression more than a “flow”: opening the spine, loading the hips, then asking for balance and control under fatigue.

Timelapsed it for a story, without really wanting to post it: the flat isn’t finished, and I even used the front camera as the tripod is still boxed up somewhere. A few friends have asked for the transcript (see final 15” of the reel), so here you have it for posterity.

Highlights:
- Half moon / reversed half moon when things start to wobble
- Skandasana variations, deep, earthy, and humbling (as always)
- The wild thing flow through, where it either clicks or it really doesn’t

No perfection, just iterating through explorations.

Private tuition is available, all proceedings go to charity.

I entered into 2025 with a lot of question marks ??? hanging over my head. Quitting my job and life-long project at W3D to move on to a new chapter of my career, and with a breakup getting menacingly closer and closer.

But how can one let new horizons appears in one’s life without making space for them, without an open mind and a courageous heart? Truly believing in this, I gave myself the privilege and the opportunity to drift off into unknown territories; not just geographically, but across the spectrum of my whole life experience.

2025 kicked off with my first time in Dubai, and then first time in Singapore, where I ever got to play GnR on stage in front of one of the hottest crowds ever. First time skiing in the dolomites, first time in Prague, then Budapest, a bit of Puglia, then Mykonos, Croatia for @echoesfromagartha, my first jury service back in the UK, another degree, back to Puglia, my first festival as organiser @soulofmasara, @polifonic_ , @defectedevents Croatia, @collaterale_festival, and @panoramafestival_ .

Concerts and more concerts. New art. New records. Infinite club nights, parties, after parties, naps on the beach, dogs and kittens, more music, more joy, more laughter. New cliffs, new dives. New circles, new networks. Old friends, new friends. Old family, new family. New babies (not mine)! Old recipes…new recipes! Coffee. A book finished after 3 years of research, investigation, introspection. A short late summer project, and my new job back in London. My dream job.

And finally, my first property.

Thank you for being part of my journey, you are what makes it special and real. I love you, and because I love you, let me tell you: you are perfect the way you are. You are complete. You are love, and you are loved: never, ever, ever let anyone make you afraid. by @filusso

A birthday post: I am pleased to share that “Additive Manufacturing Teaching and Training Case Studies”, a Springer Nature book I have contributed to, has now been published.

The book brings together international experts from academia and industry to present concrete examples of how #additivemanufacturing is being taught, shared and applied across different contexts. Topics range from hybrid and distance learning approaches, to the use of virtual reality, mobile labs and makerspaces, through to medical training, workforce reskilling, and sustainability education.

The aim is to provide educators, students, and practitioners with real case studies that bridge theory and practice, helping prepare the next generation of engineers and professionals to adopt and advance AM. I am grateful to have played a small part in this collective effort (together with my Cranfield University co-authors Supriyo Ganguly, Yongle Sun, and Surya Krishnaswamy).

In our chapter, we covered the design of world’s first MSc in Metal AM and the delivery and evolution of the course at Cranfield University, with its unique strengths and far-reaching activities in the field of large-scale metal AM. Finally, the chapter also covers case studies and innovative pedagogical tools introduced since 2019. I hope it will prove a useful resource for the community.
