Since 2015, The Espresso Lab has been part of a remarkable journey.

We became the first specialty coffee roastery from the UAE to acquire coffee through the prestigious Best of Panama auction, beginning a relationship with some of the world’s most exceptional coffees and the producers behind them.

Since then, our journey has continued through Best of Panama, Cup of Excellence, and some of the world’s most respected private coffee auctions.

Alhamdulillah today, the United Arab Emirates stands alongside China, Japan and South Korea, as one of the most influential markets shaping the future of specialty coffee.

For me, this journey has never simply been about acquiring rare coffees.

It has always been about discovering them, understanding them, respecting the people and places behind them, and ultimately, sharing them.

And now, I want to take that philosophy one step further.

I will personally step behind The Espresso Lab bar, across all locations, to brew and serve some of the rarest and most exceptional coffees we have acquired through auctions around the world.

As an Emirati, it is a privilege to share this experience personally from the UAE, with everyone.

These coffees will not be sold.

They will be served with our compliments, as a gesture of hospitality from The Espresso Lab.

An opportunity to experience coffees that are rarely accessible. To discover their origins, their varieties, their producers, and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind every cup.

Because after all these years, I still believe in one thing:

EXCEPTIONAL COFFEE IS OUR JOURNEY.

PERFECTION IS OUR DESTINATION.

Alhamdulillah, with deep gratitude and humility, we are proud to share that our Founder, Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, will represent the United Arab Emirates at the 2026 World Brewers Cup Championship during World of Coffee - Brussels 2026.

This journey is not only about a national title, nor only about reaching a global stage.
It is about years of discipline, quiet perseverance, and a devotion to coffee that has always been rooted in something greater than competition.

For Ibrahim, every brew is a reflection of place, memory, hospitality and identity. It is a way of carrying the UAE’s spirit forward, while honouring the traditions that shaped us as Emiratis.

This year marks a defining turning point for us, one that reshapes our path in the most positive and meaningful way.

In Sha Allah, we continue to expand with purpose: elevating our craft, honoring our roots, and introducing new expressions of coffee, created with intention and depth.

Reliving this amazing moment at Best of Panama 2025, where Panama’s finest producers and some of the world’s best cuppers gathered to celebrate exceptional coffee. It was a week filled with pressure and anticipation, but also excitement and inspiration, as we cupped and scored to honor this year’s best coffees.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, from the organizers to the international and guest cuppers, and most of all the producers who continue to raise the benchmark for quality coffee each year. We’ve come a long way in specialty coffee thanks to the dedication of everyone working to elevate the bar.

@TheEspressoLab is anticipating the auction this August and can’t wait to bid on these outstanding coffees In Sha Allah and share them with our amazing community in the United Arab Emirates and beyond.

Alhamdulillah this year’s Best of Panama was a beautiful celebration of passion, dedication, and community. After three years as a guest cupper, @Almallouhi had the honor of serving as an international judge, a proud milestone for The Espresso Lab. We were also delighted to have @HelloItsFajar join the cupping table, continuing our journey of learning and connection.

The Best of Panama is one of the most prestigious coffee competitions in the world, bringing together exceptional producers, passionate cuppers, and a shared love for quality. We extend our warmest congratulations to all the producers of Panama for their inspiring dedication, and a heartfelt applause to Hacienda La Esmeralda for achieving first place across all categories: washed, natural, and varietal.

This year, we are excited to participate in the auctions of Hacienda La Esmeralda, Lamastus Family Estates, and for the first time, Longboard Coffee.

Thank you to the organizers and sponsors who raise the standard each year. We are honored to taste these remarkable coffees and to share them with our community in the UAE and beyond.

Let us continue to push quality forward. It is an exciting year ahead, not just for Panama, but for everyone who celebrates coffee.

In 2021, conversations about establishing a coffee farm began. By 2023, Finca Rasha came to fruition—founded by Ibrahim Almallouhi, the visionary behind The Espresso Lab—as a bold step toward deepening the understanding of coffee at its origin. Located in the heart of coffee-producing land, Finca Rasha represents more than cultivation; it is a place of learning, connection, and purpose. Named after Dr. Rasha, Ibrahim’s beloved wife, the farm stands as a tribute to the spirit of collaboration and dedication that fuels The Espresso Lab.

Finca Rasha was born from a desire to bridge the gap between producers, roasters, and consumers. It is an initiative to step into the shoes of the producer—to gain firsthand experience in cultivation, processing, and the daily challenges and triumphs that shape every cup. By engaging directly in farm-level work, The Espresso Lab aims to cultivate not only coffee, but also empathy, respect, and transparency across the supply chain.

Now in year three, Finca Rasha continues to be a field of discovery and a long-term commitment to craft, traceability, and shared progress—an embodiment of The Espresso Lab’s belief that the future of coffee is rooted in meaningful relationships.
We cannot wait to share our first harvest with everyone very soon.

Alhamdulillah, this year’s closing of @WorldOfCoffeeDubai was a night full of gratitude, connection, and shared purpose.

Our producers are more than suppliers—they are partners, mentors, and friends who share their time, knowledge, and passion with us. Their presence reminds us that coffee is not just a product but a relationship built on trust, respect, and a shared pursuit of excellence. To sit together, exchange ideas, and strengthen this bond is a privilege we deeply cherish. As they continue their journeys, we send them off with gratitude, knowing that every harvest, every coffee, and every conversation brings us closer.

We hope for more days like this. In the meantime, we return to our Roastery, and they to their farms. We’ll continue working together to ensure we always provide the best The Espresso Lab experience.

The first ever experience of cupping and tasting all of the 50 Best of Panama Auction Lots @BestOfPanama2024 has now been concluded. In a groundbreaking event, we became the first in the UAE and the entire region to offer an exclusive cupping experience of the entire selections from @BestOfPanama2024. True to our pioneering spirit, we’ve once again set the bar for coffee excellence.

Our in-house team, harnessing cutting-edge AI technology, crafted a seamless booking and RSVP system, ensuring a smooth experience for our esteemed guests and patrons. This innovative approach allowed us to share this unparalleled tasting opportunity with coffee enthusiasts across the region.

The event showcased the crème de la crème of Panama’s coffee harvest, featuring 14 exquisite Varietal lots, 18 outstanding Geisha Natural lots, 18 superb Geisha Washed lots

Each cup told a story of dedication, expertise, and the unique terroir of Panama’s coffee-growing regions.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Panamanian partners. Their tireless pursuit of coffee perfection continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in a cup.
