Redscroll Records and Counter Weight Brewing Co. are teaming up for a record fair in Cheshire on Sunday, October 11, from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Here is what to expect at the event:
More Dealers & Music: Vinyl vendors from across the Northeast spanning two reconfigured floors, with live DJs setting the vibe.
Food & Drinks: Craft beverages from Counter Weight, fresh pizza from Ritual Pizza (including vegan and gluten-free options), plus an additional food truck on-site.
Location: Counter Weight Brewing Co. (7 Diana Ct., Cheshire, CT).

🎨 Open Studios New Haven is back for 2026!

From Oct 1 to Nov 1, over two dozen locations across New Haven, Westville, and West Haven are opening their doors for a full month of art, studio tours, and events.

Here is what is happening each weekend:
• Oct 1–4 (Opening Weekend): "Glorious Index" exhibition preview at The Institute Library + receptions at Ely Center & City Gallery
• Oct 10–11 (Downtown): Chapel St. pop-up gallery, Audubon district, Fair Haven & East Rock
• Oct 17–18 (Erector Square / Marlin Works): 100+ artists, food trucks, live entertainment, family art-making + cARTie bus fall festival in Westville
• Oct 24–25 (Westville & West Haven): Local studio tours including Gilbert Street Studios & Kehler Liddell Gallery
• Nov 1: Giant Puppet Parade in Edgewood Park (11 AM)

All events are free and open to everyone.

✨ Another Successful CT Day at @thebigefair ✨
What a fantastic day! @mysticchamber was thrilled to be back at The Big E for Connecticut Day, proudly representing our incredible southeastern #Connecticut community and the amazing businesses that make our region so special! 💙
From the moment visitors walked through the doors, we were ready to welcome them with information about our area through brochures, lots of giveaway swag, and plenty of inspiration to add southeastern Connecticut to their next adventure. 🌊
And the fun didn't stop there! Our CT House crew had an amazing lineup, including some of our friends and partners from home:
🍷 @jedwardswinery , pouring delicious wine and frozè.
🎰 @mohegansun & @foxwoods bringing the excitement with giveaway games down the hall.
We also had the pleasure of meeting @missamericact Christa Steiner, @hwphockey mascot, Sonar, and a special guest Mermaid, making a splash with @mystic_aquarium ! And, we of course enjoyed some of the amazing food The Big E is known for! (Because networking is always better with snacks. 😉)

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Connecticut Day another great success. To our partners, participating businesses, visitors, and everyone who helped showcase the best of southeastern Connecticut, we appreciate you more than you know!

WATERCOLOR FOUNDATIONS (August session)

Program Description
This foundational course sequence addresses the essential technical skills of watercolor painting that are often fragmented or omitted in prior instruction. Students systematically relearn brush control, washes, blending, layering, edges, and controlled effects through guided studio practice. Emphasis is placed on understanding cause and effect in watercolor, developing muscle memory, and obtaining or restoring confidence through correct sequencing.

Greta Corens

Art and design teacher, Greta Corens, began teaching after a career as a successful fashion designer in NYC. She specializes in portraiture, botanical watercolors, landscapes and illustration.

"My paintings are realistic, but they also translate personality and have a soul that vibrates with sensitive qualities that set them apart, where no photography can tread."

She received a master's degree in Art, Architecture, and Design at St. Imelda Institute, div. of St. Lucas Architectural Institute in Brussels, Belgium.

Program Description
Celebrate summer through the beauty of the sea. In this watercolor course, we will paint a wide variety of seascapes — from delicate beaches and luminous waterfronts to colorful boats, tropical waters, gentle ripples, and powerful crashing waves.
Students will explore how to paint water, sky, sand, reflections, boats, and coastal atmosphere while developing stronger watercolor technique and a freer, more expressive hand. A perfect summer course for painters who love the sea, light, movement, and the fresh possibilities of watercolor.
