Danbury Railway Museum to host Steel & Wheels Car Show is June 15 📣
•
The Danbury Railway Museum is pleased to once again be the host venue for the Steel & Wheels car show, this year to benefit Operation Toy Train. Each year, Operation Toy Train collects over 30,000 donated toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation, which redistributes them to underprivileged children within the collection areas. The day’s fun will begin at 10:00am and the car show will officially end at 2:30pm on Saturday, June 15 (rain date: Sunday, June 16). The museum itself will close at 4:00pm. General admission is $12 for age 2 and older (under 24 months, free) and includes admission to the museum, train rides, tours of vintage railroad equipment, and the car show. Trains will begin running hourly at 11:00 with the last train departing at 2:00. Show cars are welcome; owners should show up at the gate where a registration fee of $10 will be collected by the car show personnel.

The Gallery at Still River Editions announces First Ladies exhibit 📣
🖼️ Grace Coolidge © Tina Sarno
•
First Ladies is an exhibition of oil paintings by Tina Sarno of Silvermine, Connecticut at The Gallery at Still River Editions in Danbury, CT. There is an opening reception on Saturday, April 20th from 2 pm – 4 pm with light refreshments, free and open to the public. The exhibition runs weekdays through June 28th.

Sarno began painting the series in 2018 at the suggestion of a friend, and she has painted over thirty-five to this date. When painting, Sarno seeks out historical portraits and biographical details for inspiration, revealing things that may not come out in a formal portrait. For example, one of her most recent works shows Grace Coolidge with her pet raccoon, Rebecca.

Hillside Food Outreach Hosts 15th Annual Dancing with Our Stars on April 13th
•
On Saturday, April 13, Hillside Food Outreach will host its 15th annual Dancing with Our Stars, an evening of dancing and competition, at The Summit at Danbury.
