Here are 5 tips that help me:

1. Decide first if you collect for fun, nostalgia, or investment … your goal changes what you should buy.

2. Don’t buy random packs all the time. Sometimes buying singles is much cheaper than chasing one specific card.

3. Set yourself a budget before you start. Pokémon cards can become expensive faster than most people expect.

4. Learn a little about sets, prices, and card conditions before spending big money. Knowledge saves you from bad purchases.

5. Don’t compare your collection to others. Some people have been collecting for years! Focus on enjoying your own journey, not keeping up with theirs.

What do you think? Do you have any other tips?

People will always question hobbies they don’t understand.

But collecting Pokémon cards was never just about cards for me.
It’s nostalgia. Peace. Excitement.
A small escape from a loud world.

Not everything needs to be productive.
Sometimes happiness is enough.

So if your hobby makes you feel alive…
never apologize for it.

I healed so hard that I became an even bigger nerd than before.
Now I collect the cards I always wanted, talk way too much about Pokémon, and genuinely enjoy the things that make me happy.

Turns out healing is just becoming who you were before people made you feel weird for it.

1. Don’t start by opening random packs! Decide what you actually want to collect first

2. Buy sleeves, binders and protection early, because damaged cards lose value fast.

3. Collecting takes time! Your collection will not look “perfect” after a few weeks.

4. Don’t compare your collection to others too much. Some people have been collecting for years! Focus on having fun with your own journey.

5. Set yourself a budget before you start, because collecting can become expensive very quickly.
