Our perfect day 🌞
Olive, who normally is always on the move, and Archie, one of the horses that doesn’t normally like his face being touch, found each other in the field and spent an hour together like that. I love that kind of magic.
Kristin and I are celebrating 10 years of friendship and this was a sure good way to commemorate that.
Olive and I have dads and a stepdad that love us.
The place I spent my 35th birthday, and where we got engaged. This ranch continues to keep giving to us.
Blessed beyond measure. by @fionahepher

And to my hilarious dad and best grandpa to Olive and Ziggy. You’re always working to take care of us, behind the scenes. We appreciate all you do that we can see and don’t see. Love you @markhepher ❤️ by @fionahepher

Happy Step Father’s Day to my love. It’s been a year since you moved here, saying yes to a life you didn’t see coming a few years ago. Not only were you becoming a partner, you were becoming a stepdad all at once. And you have stepped in so fully and love this girl hard.

You play with such imagination, craft for hours, inspire family workouts, host the best Friday morning parties, clean up messes you didn’t make and take care of two fiercely independent girls. We’re not the easiest, but the way you love us does not go unnoticed. Thank you for choosing us. We love you. by @fionahepher

F - I’m caring, I’m cleaning. I’m making plates of food for Queens….

O - Ok…I’m feeling a little something but I’m still out here, chopping fresh and adding the goods. It made it to a bowl, so we’re okay.

L - feral. Eating like a raccoon. Food cannot take more than 10 seconds to prepare. Must be salty sweet fatty crunchy. Eaten at the counter. Dishes used 0.
…

My period is next week so looking forward to my next avatar. Can anyone else relate orr? by @fionahepher

Right now, the BC government is asking people across the province what should matter most in next year’s budget. We have an opportunity to tell decision-makers: perinatal mental health matters.

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to be a policy person. You just need about 10 minutes and your own voice.

Submissions close Friday, June 19 at 2:00PM Pacific.

In Her Circle has three recommendations:

❤️ Fund BC’s Perinatal Mental Health Strategy — including a real focus on maternal suicide prevention and intervention.
❤️ Build North America’s first Mother-Baby Mental Health Unit at BC Women’s Hospital, so moms in crisis are never separated from their babies.
❤️ Track and publicly report on maternal mental health, so we actually know what’s working.

If you believe in this cause and want to add your voice, comment on this message and we will DM you a quick submission guide.

Every submission is counted, and every voice makes this harder to ignore.

What a long road. I spent many nights wondering if it would be just Olive and I in this house. And part of me grew okay with that. But a big part of me held on to a vision of love that looked and felt like this.

Someone who would say yes to the whole bag on my back. Someone who would actually help me carry it.

Heartbreak grew me, but it didn’t flesh out all my skills as a partner. He’s teaching me that. And I guess I’m teaching him a little bit about parenting.

Living with, learning, leading and loving a child that’s not biologically yours? It’s not for the faint of heart. It’s a test of the soul. It requires great patience. It takes a peaceful warriors mind and body.

We’ve been tested by our integration over the last 8 months. But on the scales of life, it’s light. It’s the kind of work we needed to overcome our perpetuating egoic compulsions.

Together, working hard on heart work.

There’s so much love and happiness on an average day in this garden suite. And for that, I’m so grateful.

What a month. 🤍

May held our stories, our generosity, our grief, our hope. Together, we raised more than $57,000 for perinatal mental health. We are so proud of us, so proud of you.

And we celebrated. Because we know, joy and sorrow were never meant to take turns. They coexist. And we needed that dance. To clear our bodies, our minds and our hearts. So we can tend to what’s alive.

Because in truth, this work has stirred something in us.

You can’t sit with postpartum stories — of identity change, babies that didn’t come home, mothers that we lost, a period of time that felt nothing like what was promised, without your own grief rising to meet it.

We felt it. We’re feeling it still.

And that feels right, because Francis Weller reminds us: grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning. There is no love that does not contain loss.

We can’t talk about postpartum without talking about grief. The grief of the self you were before. The grief of what you expected and didn’t receive. The grief of doing it without the village. The grief your body carries that was never even named.

Weller writes of five gates through which grief enters us.

Postpartum lives inside nearly all of them. And In Her Circle was built in that truth.

Because the women and families we exist to support are tired. And we can’t show up for them if we aren’t well. We can’t pour from an empty cup, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

June is ours to be quiet. To be with our families. To tend to our hearts. To fill back up so we can pour back out.

We’ll be back this summer with impact updates, a refined vision for what’s next, and new ways to step into this circle together.
Thank you for moving with us. Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you for being In Her Circle. 🤍 by @fionahepher

This is for you, Jenna. 🦋🤍

This is for all the mamas who have felt alone.💛

For the women who carried strength on the outside while struggling silently within.💛

For the mothers who couldn’t understand why they felt the way they did, especially while being told this should be the most precious time of their lives.💛

For the mamas who spiral with worry, afraid they’ll miss it all because they grow so fast.💛

For the mothers grieving the version of postpartum they thought they would have.💛

For the women navigating rage, fear, numbness, anxiety, or sadness they never expected.💛

For the mothers healing from traumatic births, loss, or the weight of impossible expectations.💛

For the friends, aunties, and communities who want to help but don’t know how.💛

For the partners who want to fix what feels broken, but don’t know where to turn for support.💛

For the siblings and family members carrying worry behind closed doors.💛

For the children who have witnessed their mothers in pain.💛

For every family changed by maternal mental health.💛

For those we lost too soon and for those still fighting to stay.💛

Today is Jenna’s birthday. Today is why we launch In Her Circle.

The beginning of something bigger than us. Something we know Jenna would be proud of. Jenna championed women in every space she entered—often spaces not built for them. She advocated fiercely for others. Tragically, she could not advocate for herself in the way she deserved to be held.

So we are taking heartbreak and turning it into change. Into care. Into what has been missing in women’s health and women’s mental health.

The systems meant to hold us have failed us, again and again. We cannot bear to watch more women fall through the cracks.

We’ve been growing this movement like a baby, and today, together, we get to birth it. 🦋🤍

May the circle open and never close.⭕️

This is only the beginning. ✨
