Final review round up! Some love for the book, music and lyrics from @ayoungishperspective @beyondcurtain and @theatreandartsreviews (as well as the @fringetheatreawards ) @robbie.hebert and I are thrilled to see so much enthusiasm from audiences and press alike for the show in its first form. But there is no rest for the wicked and we are already deep in rewrites for the next development. 📸 @krodphotographyuk by @firebrandmusical

Our workshop of Firebrand has received a @fringetheatreawards festival award 🥉. We’re thrilled with such a positive response so early in the process and are really excited for the future of the show. by @firebrandmusical

Some more love for our phenomenal cast, this time from @beyondthecurtain. Our @laransmyth @ml.poischbeg @caitlyn.calfas and @kierancap really are spectacular.

A headstrong girl like Julie is gonna need a lot of help as she begins to navigate the hidden queer world in 17th century France. Fortunately, she’ll have plenty of guidance from Philippe and The Chevalier played by real life couple @ml.poischbeg and @carlodowd

Firebrand runs from Aug 17-19 at @the_water_rats as part of @thecamdenfringe by @firebrandmusical

The incredible @kierancap was the first actor to sign on to Firebrand, playing the ambitious Comte d’Armagnac in all of the readings and early concepts versions.

Firebrand tells the story of Julie D’Aubigny, notorious swordsman, infamous contralto, and one of the boldest examples of bisexuality in French History. Firebrand runs from August 17-19 at @the_water_rats as part of @thecamdenfringe

Perfectly Natural (sung by @laransmyth) is sung by Julie as she works through feelings for a woman she’s met which she suspects might be more than just friendly…

Firebrand Co-Writer, Merilee Ettia, will also be joining the cast playing the Marquise de Lafayette.

Merilee is an Aussie multi hyphenate artist who moved abroad to get a drama school degree (and a vitamin D deficiency) in London.

Her performing credits include Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" (Embassy Theatre), Principal Swing in "An Evening of Bull" (The Other Palace) and Lizzie Bisco in "City of Ember" (Union Theatre).

As a writer, she trained with Playlab’s Incubator and Omnibus’ Omniwright programs and was runner up in Queensland Theatre’s Young Playwright’s Award.

She recently produced her solo show “Busking in Glory” to rave reviews and cannot wait to share “Firebrand” with the world. by @firebrandmusical
