OVERVIEW ✍️
Definitely not the first time having nandos and it certainly won’t be the last. On this occasion opted for a half chicken with peri salted fries, spicy rice and a side of halloumi. The food arrived to the table quickly and piping hot and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice meal and good value for money.

WOLOF, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited to @wolofflavours to try some food from the menu.

Opted for the;

Chicken Yassa
Lamb Yassa

First time trying authentic Gambian cuisine and it won’t be the last! Everything was cooked fresh to order and was delicious. It’s not hard to see why these guys are extremely popular.

Both the Chicken and Lamb were cooked to perfection with the Lamb being our favourite as it was soft and tender 🔥.

The Jollof Rice (Benachin) was again cooked perfectly with a rich savory and smoky taste which worked well with both meats!

The plantain was golden brown and caramelized on the outside with a soft and tender inside, giving you a sweet and slightly crisp delicious taste.

If you haven’t already be sure to check these guys out as it’s not one to be missed!

BURGER BOI, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down @burgerboiuk to try some food and drinks from their menu. They have a few different branches and on this occasion we visited the Hagley Road branch!

We opted for the;

- Triple Cheese Boi Burger
- Hot Honey Chicken Burger
- Bad Boi Hot Mess Loaded Fries
- Korean Mac & Cheese
- Mango Habanero Chicken Tenders
- Onion Straws
- Cookies & Cream Churros
- Fanta Lemon
- Fanta Fruit Twist

After a short wait the food arrived hot and freshly made to order. Both burgers were fully loaded and tasted delicious. The Hot Honey Chicken Burger had a great sweet and spicy kick and the Triple Cheese Boi Burger was juicy with a nice flavour coming from the Bad Boi Sauce 🔥🍔.

Also really enjoyed the Korean Mac & Cheese as it was decent with the Korean Chicken Chunks elevating the overall flavour. The onion straws were something different and after trying them for the first time would highly recommend these🤤.

The tenders were juicy and even though they were coated in a sweet and spicy Mango and Habanero glaze they still remained crispy 🥭🌶️.

Overall a pleasant visit served by some amazing members of staff! If you haven’t already be sure to give @burgerboiuk a try!

DEWOK, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down to @dewok.co.uk to try some food and drinks from their menu. Visited the Acocks Green branch however they also have another branch based in Hodge Hill.

We opted for the;

- Mai Tai
- Passion Fruit Mojito
- Dynamite Prawns
- Dragon Wings
- Dewok Loaded Chow Mein
- Honey Chilli Chicken
- Egg & Chicken Fried Rice
- Peri Chips

The food arrived hot and freshly cooked to order! Really enjoyed both starters as the Dragon Wings had a nice spice to them and the Dynamite Prawns were cooked perfectly and worked well with the sweet tangy sauce 🔥.

The Dewok Loaded Chow Mein was the star of the show, consisting of generous amounts of Chicken, Prawns and Beef throughout. Asked for it spicy and it didn’t disappoint! The Honey Chilli Chicken was also delicious and something different to try, paired well with the fluffy Chicken and Egg Fried Rice.

Both mocktails were delicious as they were sweet and refreshing, perfect to go alongside the food 🍹.

RAGIN BIRD, LEICESTER 📍

Kindly invited down to @raginbirduk to check out their incredible menu!

Opted for the;

- Ragin Box
- Prawn Roll
- Banana Pudding
- Ragin Tenders

Everything was made fresh to order and tasted as good as it looked! The Ragin Box is a great option as it included their O.G Bird, Ragin Fries and a Ragin Taco. We added a few extras which were Flippin Bird, Tenders in each flavour and Wings 🐓🔥.

Both Burgers were very tasty, containing a thick juicy Nashville Chicken fillet accompanied by sauce and salad. The Chicken Tenders were also cooked to perfection, each in a different flavour with a lovely crisp coating with our favourite being the Hot Honey Buffalo 🔥🍯.

The Prawn Roll was also really nice and something we’ve not tried anywhere else. The Nashville seasoned prawns with sauces worked perfectly together in the soft brioche bun 🍤🔥.

The Banana Pudding is a great way to finish the meal as it’s sweet and very moorish! A must try when visiting here 🍌.

FLAME AND BIRD, BIRMINGHAM📍

Finally managed to visit @flameandbird to check out some food from their menu.

Opted for the create your own Megabox (£18) which included;

* 1 Slider
* 2 Tenders
* Chopped Chicken Fries
* Chopped Chicken Mac&Cheese

After a short wait the food was served hot and fresh! Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Opted for the medium spice which was perfect as it had a slight kick but not too much 🌶️.

The Mac&Cheese worked well with Chopped Chicken and perfectly again with the Fries! Also really enjoyed the house and ranch sauce as they accompanied the tenders really well.

If you haven’t already be sure to give this place a try, Nashville done right🔥.

STORE 9, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down to @store9.birmingham a newly opened Hong Kong restaurant located in the Chinese Quarter.

We were recommended to try the;

- Sweet And Sour Chicken
- Crispy Duck
- Pork Belly
- Egg Fried Rice
- Pineapple Bun With Butter
- French Toast
- Mango Pomelo Sago
- Iced Lemon Tea

Everything arrived to the table freshly cooked to order and was delicious. Both the Duck and Pork Belly were cooked beautifully! Both remaining crispy and succulent.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken had a delicious authentic flavour, with the chicken remaining tender and crisp. The sauce itself was a perfect consistency and wasn’t too sweet, pairing well with the fluffy Egg Fried Rice 🍛🔥.

For desert it was a first trying a Pineapple Bun with Butter, however we were pleasantly surprised. The bun itself was soft and fluffy with a sweet crunchy topping, which tasted delicious with the salted butter. The French Toast was also very tasty, with a light syrupy texture, would highly recommend this 🔥

The Iced Tea was a delight as it was made perfectly with the freshness and tanginess of the Lemons really combining well with the Tea. A great drink to go alongside the food 🍋.

CAFFÈ ANNO, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down again to @caffeanno to check out their Limited Edition Halloween menu 👻. Based in Birmingham City Centre they offer a range of authentic Korean dishes 🇰🇷.

Opted for the;
- Black Corn Dog Original
- Black Corn Dog Half and Half
- Black Fried Chicken
- Gyudon Rice Bowl
- Little Boo Thai
- Summer Fruit Bubble Tea

The Corn Dogs had a nice flavour with the outer coating being lovely and crispy. The Half and Half Corn Dog which was half filled with sausage and the other half filled with cheese worked really well, a great combination. The black colouring gave off a great Halloween theme. They also offer a halal version of the Corn Dogs 🌭.

The Limited Edition Little Boo Thai Drink is a twist on the Thai Milk Tea with a delicious pumpkin flavour perfect for Halloween. Would recommend this if you’re a pumpkin lover 🎃.

The Summer Fruit Bubble Tea was cold and refreshing with popping bubbles in every sip🧋.

Overall a great visit served by friendly staff experiencing some new interesting and unique flavours that you won’t find everywhere!

GYO CURRY, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down to @gyocurry.birmingham to try some food and drinks from their menu. Based in Chinatown they offer a range of delicious and unique items!

We opted for the;

- Katsu Chicken With Steamed Rice
- Teriyaki Chicken With Fried Rice
- Chicken Gyoza
- Calamari
- Curry Fish Ball
- Hata Strawberry Ramune
- Coca Cola

The Katsu Chicken was really nice as the curry sauce had a rich and bold flavour and the chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy! The rice was also steamed to perfection 🍚.

The Teriyaki Chicken was delicious. It was sweet, savory, and salty with a deep umami flavor from soy sauce and a caramel-like sweetness from honey. A perfect combination with the fried rice 🔥.

The sides of the Chicken Gyoza’s, Calamari and Curry Fish Balls were all also very nice. Everything was cooked to order and served fresh with the Calamari being a personal favourite 🦑.

Would recommend you give this place a try!

HAPPY LAMB, BIRMINGHAM📍

Kindly invited down to @happylambbirmingham for a unique experience of the famous hotpot. Located in Chinatown and open till late they offer a range of tasty broths to choose from with a wide selection of fresh meats, fish and vegetables to add to them!🔥.

They also offer a classic buffet with your usual favourites 😍.

We opted for the;

- Spicy Marrow Chicken Broth
- Rich Tomato Broth

First time trying a hotpot and was really impressed! Really enjoyed both broth bases as they were rich, flavourful and hearty. The Spicy Marrow Chicken packed a lovely but not unbearable spice kick 🌶️. This one was our favourite and worked with all the meats.

Also enjoyed the Rich Tomato as it had a slight sweetness to it and deep umami flavour which provided both richness and depth. Again really nice with the meats but also the fish aswell 🔥.

The Chicken, Lamb and Beef are halal. They do serve Pork however this is labelled and kept separately from everything else!

This is a great experience as it gives you the chance to cook to your own liking. It’s also ideal for friends and family as you there’s something for everyone.

Would recommend you give this place a try!
