British sculptor Alexandra Harley @harleysculpture inks her sculptures with etching ink, pressing them by hand onto Japanese paper.

Alexandra is an Ashurst Sculpture Prize winner 2021 and a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and The London Group of Free Painters and Sculptors.

On the night, John Bunker will be in conversation with art historian and critic Sam Cornish.

NOTE: There is a limited print run currently available. Once these are sold further copies can be pre-ordered at the launch.

'Our Dust is Blowing along the Road' has been beautifully designed by Mixed Media London. This 178 page hardback monograph is packed full of colour reproductions drawn from 15 years of John Bunker's work.

There are insightful essays by Sam Cornish @samuelcornish and Ben Wiedel-Kaufmann @wwkben and transcripts of in-depth conversations between Bunker and Matt Dennis.

Abstraction is often associated with high ideals, formal innovation and a preoccupation with purely aesthetic experience.

Collage is, by contrast, the gritty stuff of the quotidian world.

For the last 35 years Bunker has played with the friction generated between these two modes, creating images and objects that are both allusive and elusive, that swing from the delicate and poetic to the materially dense and brutal. by @firstfloorstudio

A pleasure having visiting artist David Lipton @d.lipton working in the studio, developing his new series of drypoint intaglio prints.

David studied History of Art at Peterhouse, Cambridge, before completing an internship with the Duke of Buccleuch’s archive and collection. He joined the Style & Decoration team at The World of Interiors in 2022 and is now Decoration Associate, working on styled shoots and across the magazine’s Antennae pages.

With interests spanning history, literature and the visual arts, it was wonderful to see David bring his eye to the intaglio press and the particular possibilities of drypoint✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the @southbermondseyarttrail this weekend!✨

It was a pleasure to welcome you into the studio and to share an in-depth conversation between our studio co-founder @mattdennis7649 and our print family member and artist @christopherprints.

Together, they explored Chris’s practice, interests, his passion for printmaking, and the journey that has unfolded over the past year.

What makes this story especially meaningful is that Chris’s printing journey began just one year ago — when he first stepped into the studio during last year’s South Bermondsey Art Trail. One year on, it was wonderful to come together again and reflect on how far that journey has come.

Join us at Firstfloor on 5th September at 4pm for a special conversation between our studio co-founder @mattdennis7649 and artist and printmaker Christopher Fairbairn @christopherprints.

Chris first came to our studio exactly a year ago, when he visited last year’s @southbermondseyarttrail. A year later, he’s become a much-loved member of our print family — with drawers now filled with prints, a solo show with @fabriq_gallery, and an infectious enthusiasm and love for printmaking.

We’ll hear Chris and Matt talk about his journey, his practice, and the ways his passion for print has unfolded over the past year.

Chris will also be giving a live demonstration, sharing how his practice has developed and giving us a chance to see the process unfold.

Come along, look through Chris’s prints, ask questions, share ideas, and be part of the conversation.

How many of you recognise this poster? 🌞

This weekend we’re opening our doors for @southbermondseyarttrail, Friday & Saturday, 12–6pm — and we really hope to see you there!

This is quite an important date for us because, exactly two years ago, we opened our doors for the very first time. So this weekend also marks our 2nd birthday! 🎂

The print you see here was created on that very first day. When we opened to the public, we asked all of you — our guests, friends and supporters — to draw or write whatever came to mind as a memory to keep from that night.

Looking back at it now feels incredibly special 🫂🖤
Thank you for being with us for these two years. Thank you to our incredible members, who we cherish so much, and to all the amazing artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with along the way.

Happy 2-year anniversary to us — and to everyone who has been part of the Firstfloor journey.
