One of our favorite things about serving seafood in Bodega Bay is getting to know exactly where it comes from.🦪🦪🦪🦪

The Miyagi oysters we serve come from our neighbors at Bodega Bay Oyster Company, a family-owned shellfish farm that’s been part of the local community since 1985. The Strain family farms 92 acres of waters in Tomales Bay and Bodega Bay, with their wholesale oysters supplied through their sister company, Point Reyes Oyster. So when we talk about eating local, this is about as local as it gets. @bodegabayoyster

Miyagis are Pacific oysters, known for their sweet, mildly briny flavor, subtle nuttiness, and soft meat. But what makes us love them even more is how they’re grown. Oysters don’t need feed, freshwater, or fertilizer. They live off naturally occurring phytoplankton in the water, filtering the bay as they grow. An adult Pacific oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of seawater in a day!!!

We’ll take ours on the half shell. Or covered in garlic butter. We’re not picky😉! What’s your favorite way to enjoy?
