Bodega Bay, CA: what’s WORTH the hype vs. what I’d skip 🌊🦪🐚

If you’re planning a weekend getaway to Bodega Bay or exploring the Sonoma Coast, save this guide before your trip!

🏨 @hoteldega — WORTH THE HYPE. Dog-friendly, prime location, and the perfect home base for exploring Bodega Bay. Under two hour from the Bay Area!
🦞 @fishetarian — OBSESSED. Get the lobster roll, order the oysters, and time your visit for sunset!
🥐 @thebirdscafe — A cute breakfast spot! Loved the breakfast burrito and French toast sticks.
🌊 Bodega Head Trail — WORTH THE STOP. Amazing ocean views, beautiful coastal scenery, and dog-friendly trails.
🦪 @rockeroysterfellersatthewharf — Great for happy hour, but heads up: happy hour isn’t available on the patio.
🔥 Drakes at the Lodge — Good appetizers and great service. I’d skip the entrees and enjoy drinks and bites outside by the firepits instead.
🥣 Spud Point Crab Co. — A pass for me overall, but the clam chowder was decent!
🦪 @fishermanscovebodegabay — MY FAVORITE for oysters. Definitely making a return trip!

Bodega Bay is such a good Northern California coastal getaway, especially if you love fresh seafood, ocean views, cute breakfast spots, and dog-friendly adventures. 🐚

Alfred Hitchcock’s movie The Birds was filmed in this Northern California coastal town. Bodega Bay is only 90 minutes from San Francisco, and it’s the perfect mix of coastal hikes, ridiculously good seafood, wine tasting and little adventures you might not expect.
