Beyond rewarding to step foot into this water for the first time and find a dinosaur like this and many MANY other fish. Worth the hours behind the wheel and then some. Been dreaming about a day like this for a long long time. #magicisreal #lightingstrikes #thegrindisreal #fishhard #flugfiske #euronymphing #nymphinglikeaeuropean #americannymphing #flyfishtheeast #flyfishing #newengland #guidesdayoff #fall #wildbrowntrout #wildasfuck #thomasandthomasflyrods #contactnymphrod #upcountrysportfishing #cortlandtippet #flytrapholder #cetechinnovations #catchmeifyoucan by @fishingwithzach

So I marked the location of this fish roughly 3 years ago. In that time I've fished for him hundreds of times and put literally hundreds of clients on him. In that time I hooked him only ONCE! He of course kicked my ass harder then I've ever experienced on my home water. I figured he was a very large holdover. Not in a million years would I have guessed that he was a massive wild fish. A unicorn here on my river. A legend you only hear about but nobody ever catches... Today was my day. He tried to play the exact same shit he did with me the first time I hooked him but I had a LOT of time to think about what I would have done differently. This is my personal best wild brown trout. Words can not express how I feel right now. After thousands upon thousands of river hours and thousands more at the vise... I've met the legend... face to face... 29" estimated 11+lbs
Caught on my new @thomasandthomasflyrods contact 2 nymphing rod. The added backbone gave me what I needed to pry this beast out of his boulder pile panic lie. I'm very proud to have been able to be a part of the development of this rod. Thanks so much @teeth_and_trout for the opportunity. #personalbest #unicorn #fuckyeah #upcountrysportfishing #thomasandthomasflyrods #cortlandtippet #tightlinenymphing #euronymphing #americannymphing #nymphing #nymphinglikeaeuropean #proudbuthumble #cetechinovations #flytrapholder #cantstopwontstop #flyfishing #catchmeifyoucan #czechmate by @fishingwithzach

Warner Blunt & Company came out with Zach and me for two days—and these guys are sticks.

There’s a lot of fruitless time on the water right now, but when the small bite windows opened, we took advantage and capitalized with some pretty good fish.

Summer fishing is about knowing when and where to focus your efforts. We can show you how to dial in on migrational drift behavior, the dry-fly game, and even some outside-the-box approaches that will take fish when the standard stuff isn’t getting it done.

If you’re interested in working on your summer game, shoot us a message.

We’ve also got some interesting stuff getting ready to drop soon…

Stay cool and carry your thermometers. by @fishingwithzach

This is the time of year when if you don't know exactly what you are doing you will probably have little to no success with even the fresh stocked fish. Message me asap and I can show you how to hunt the wild brown trout of the Farmington River with dry flies. It takes a lot of patience and observation before you even make a cast but when you do it better be the right one. Let me show you the way...

Teaching my sons how to hunt the alpha fish of the Farmington River with dry flies is about the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. This guy was in a tricky spot and he was cycling so it took a careful approach but he got him on the second presentation. So proud of my dude! #cortlandtippet #upcountrysportfishing #guideline #catchmeifyoucan #wildbrowntrout by @fishingwithzach
