Bass fishing—especially tournament bass fishing—will NEVER become a mainstream sporting and entertainment juggernaut until it becomes relatable to people outside of the bass fishing bubble.

@bassmaster and @majorleaguefishingofficial don’t seem to understand that. Throwing money at celebrities and trying to borrow their audiences isn’t the same as making the sport genuinely compelling to everyone else. 🤦‍♂️

And lately, I’m seeing another trend that concerns me even more:

Bass fishermen seem increasingly obsessed with fitting in, being accepted, and “feeling” cool instead of thinking independently and logically.

Are we really going to let an industry tell us what we’re supposed to think?

Think for yourself. Question everything. Carve your own path.

7 years....I waited to pursue this dream. Then, when I thought I had it all figured out. Covered all my bases. The strength of our family and faith was really tested 1 month after we sold everything and made the move.

These past 9 months have not been easy. @xx_jennifer_shin_xx has been dealing with health issues that even the doctors are having trouble figuring out. While trying to raise our beautiful daughter Emily with profound autism without any help, at times...we feel like our village... is just us.

No one will know the number of sleepless nights I stayed up and got ready to go out on a trip. Wondering if we were going to make it through the next month. It hasnt been easy, but God always provides. Hes never let me down, even though Ive let him down plenty.

This is my calling....after 7 years of praying and planning, he didnt bring me this far to fail.

I want to thank everyone that has supported Eyescope, our guide service, purchased merch, or even liked and shared our posts. It means the world to my family 🙏. Your support and love does not go unnoticed 🤘💪.

I want to thank the people, the companies, and friends who have all supported us, and helped make this all happen for us.

@oliverngy of @bigbassdreams, @defiantfishing, and @biwaa_usa and @riley.ngy for all of your advice, continued support, love and encouragement.

@lakeprotackle for always bringing in products for me that are impossible to get, and creating opportunities with companies like @geecrack_america and @leviathanrods to create some dope collabs!

@mychaoticfishing for helping me with so much more than he even realizes. From boat stuff to all the technical gidgit gadgets on my boat.

@gsmoutdoors thank you @matt_scotch for bringing me on the squad 🙏

And all of my friends/brothers in fishing that have always had my back and aupporting all of my crazy ideas. Yall know who yall are!

You don’t have to accept it,
life is the ultimate teacher.

Big thank you to the homie @fishinsanity for asking me to be his co-captain for the Grapevine @castforkids event.

THEY NEED BOATERS!

I don’t care what you think of your fishing abilities, take these kids out for a couple hours of fishing. Sometimes they literally just want to ride around in the boat.

John had this young man catching crappie and sand bass and I think he was happier than a grown man catching a 10lb+ bass.

You thinking you’re going to help give a
kid a special experience but really,
it’s the other way around.

Just do it. For the kids.

Dont let em fool you....we got big largemouth in Lake Texoma too 👀

October is the month I really start keying in on giant bites. A big part of how I locate and find the biggest bass on this lake is by hoofing the banks with one rod, usually a big swimbait tied on, and looking for the right signs. Either the right forage, water quality, conditions, and big fish following my big baits, or engulfing them like this 9lb giant lets me know im in the right areas. Understanding the casting angle and how this fish set up to ambush my bait tells me a lot.

Ive been fishing these swimbaits and glides a looong time, and have learned a lot. It was my livescope before there ever was a livescope.

Then when I put clients in the boat...its game on...with or without the scope! 💪

Ive got a double header today on the ol Eyescope Xpress @xpressboats X19 Pro, and this morning's trip was a banger! Had two seasoned anglers join me today for a little swimbait clinic! I love being able to introduce new techniques, baits, and fishing concepts to anglers. The guide caught ZERO fish today, and these boys put the smcakdown on em!

We legit lost count of how many fish were caught, all on swimbaits this morning. Didnt take long for these boys to get dialed! We completed the ol #LakeTexoma Slam today multiple times over. 🤯

Lets see what tonight's trip has in store for us👀🤘
