Global perspectives. Real-world leadership. One incredible DC experience.

Today, our G20 Fly-In students had the opportunity to hear directly from former President of Poland Andrzej Duda (@andrzejduda) and Ambassador Rafał Kos, Special Representative for Commercial & Business Affairs.

Students gained firsthand insight into President Duda’s work with the G20, international diplomacy, and the role global leaders play in navigating complex economic and geopolitical issues.

From the classroom to conversations with global leaders, FIU students are getting a front-row seat to the conversations shaping the world.

This is what learning in Washington, D.C. looks like. Impact Matters. by @fiudc

Intern Spotlight: Amani Mohd
Meet Amani Mohd, a Green Semester student (@fiu_sipa & @fiulacc ) and Political Science student on the Pre-Law track with a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. This semester, she is interning with @feroxstrategies in Washington, DC 🇺🇸
Why this internship?
Amani’s decision to intern in DC was inspired in part by her experience participating in an FIU fly-in sponsored by @fiustx She wanted to take what she has learned in the classroom and apply it to real-world government affairs while gaining experience that connects to her future career as an attorney. She was especially drawn to Ferox Strategies and its “Hustle Strategy” approach.
What she’s doing:
Amani’s work includes attending congressional hearings, conducting research, drafting memos, one-pagers, backgrounders and informational reports, and supporting the team through professional communications and day-to-day government affairs work around Capitol Hill.
Skills strengthened:
Through her internship, Amani has strengthened her policy and governmental writing, research, communication, time management and professional relationship-building skills. She has learned how to take complex information and turn it into clear, concise written products while developing a stronger understanding of how to communicate effectively in a fast-paced government affairs environment. She has also learned the value of building genuine professional relationships and adapting to different audiences and priorities.
Advice to students:
Amani’s advice is simple: “Just do it and trust the process.” Her experience in DC has shown her the importance of taking the leap, building meaningful relationships and being open to where the experience can lead. by @fiudc

Panthers in the stands! ⚾️🐾💙💛

Last night, our FIU students traded the classroom for the ballpark and headed out for the Congressional Women’s Softball Game!

Good vibes, great company, a little friendly competition, and one more DC memory made. From cheering in the stands to soaking up the energy of the Nation’s Capital, our Panthers know how to make the most of a night in DC!

Because the FIU experience does not stop when class ends. 😉
