So @avegnoneworleans is an uptown neighborhood gem right next door to @gautreausrestaurant . A cozy dim lit bar with good martinis will HEAL me. They have a solid happy hour which includes "late night" 8-10:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday. Love this because typically all the happy hour deals are weekdays only and end at 5!
The sloppy joe is SERIOUSLY good and loved those homemade pickles and potato chips, too. Don't skip on the chocolate mousse either- Practically licked the bowl😋
Prices solid - all that for 20 bucks. We shared and also wanted to try the Japanese milk bread grilled cheese which of course was lovely but honestly I liked the sloppy joe more!

Yall know I'm a martini girl and having blue cheese and caviar options are just 👩‍🍳*chefs kiss*💋

@soonenoughnola just opened and will soon enough be a new go-to spot for me. Esthetically pleasing, cozy, great cocktails list with seasonal options at reasonable prices (all $13). It's just pretentious enough

They have 2 New Orleans locations: one Uptown on Magazine Street and one in the CBD. Go support local! ✨️Side note I LOVE all the natural light!!

✨️ @brennansnola is an iconic New Orleans establishment located on Royal Street in the French Quarter that you should definitely experience at some point, particularly for their bananas foster (invented here in 1951 and served tableside with a dramatic flambée!🔥)

Always a ✨️treat🍬 to catch the original candy cart! If you're lucky you can find the wagon parked somewhere Uptown, usually along St. Charles Avenue. Can you believe they've been making roman chewing candy for over 100 years!? And still only $1.50 per stick!

Stop the slaughter of America's Wild Horses.

The New York Times has brought the horse slaughter pipeline into the national spotlight. Apparently it has been going on for years, but recently it has gotten worse.

Per the @nytimes , The Bureau of Land Management is rounding up thousands of mustangs around the U.S. and selling them to buyers for as little as $25. But the mustangs are disappearing and wild horse advocates suspect the horses are being shipped to slaughter.
Slaughtering wild horses is illegal, but the bureau can use a series of bureaucratic maneuvers and financial transactions to transform them on paper into domestic livestock, stripping their legal protections. People can then buy the mustangs for a reduced price and then quickly resell them to be exported alive, processed into cuts of meat and sold abroad.

I took this video a couple of years ago when I had the privilege of encountering these wild horses while kayaking in Arizona. It was genuinely one of the most majestic experiences of my life. They deserve to be free

The BEST morning duo: @flourmoonbagels and @heycoffee.co 🥯☕️
🚲Followed by a little bike ride down the @lafittegreenway (there are @bluebikesnola nearby!)

🥯The Bluebird is my favorite at Flourmoon. I also love to try a special but I was in the mood for the Full moon today (cream cheese, ACME nova smoked salmon, cucumber, red onion, capers, herbs)

and @onehungryrugger got the tuna melt special along with the Jerusalem Big Dipper which was just perfect honestly (and only $6) comes with warm whipped labneh, olive oil, and za'atar for dipping

☕️right next door you'll find @heycoffee.co and I got the salted honey latte- loved!!

Also love that both spots have little treats for the pups!!🐶🐾
