Don McCullin - Photographed @bigbruefestival Somerset 2026

The Black and White Don is still bringing so much colour into this world with his passion, even at level 91.

Birthday love to this incredible man.

From neighbour, to friend, to assistant…

Don has spent his life striving for peace and you are reminded of his resilience, knowing what he has endured from decades of traumatic life threatening experiences. With all this he still manages to walk with a humble and endearing nature and finds solace in the luscious Somerset lands. Somehow he is still funny and real to the core… with some curmudgeon thrown in for good measure. He loves a bit of piss take too and can definitely give as good as he gets. Still longing to Don him in a hat and get him dancing…

Almost a year since we gathered with the beautiful @cacaosource and the impacts are still felt from. If you love cacao we can’t recommend them enough. Their ethos, their collaboration, their love for the land and the people is palpable. Their curiosity into how they can be in honourable relationship with the land and the people whilst being a commercial business led to this beautiful weekend of co-creation @42acresretreat together with @daphnelaan and @catherineatthechapel

They called it: The spiral path of heart-led commerce - with @anna_spirals and @sacredcommerce

We made spirals in the land and spoke of the alchemical process of currency, in our emotions and in our exchange with the world.

As Miguel Ruiz reminds us, we are all living inside a dream - a collective agreement of reality; about what is real, what has value, what is possible.
Much of this dream is shaped by old patterns we didn't choose.
But what if we dared to dream a new dream? And what if that dream is built off of relational exchanges? What would shift if we acted as if every action was shaping the future? Shaping the collective dream of a reality?

Thanks to the @betheearth.foundation who helped to gather a team of change makers, thinkers, artists, elders and wisdom keepers to connect and harmonise visions for a better future.

Once again Cacao was a powerful teacher during this amazing opportunity to show up and inspire each other, to organise and infuse our actions with love.

Dartmoor felt as wild as ever whilst the elements played with each other… and us. Dancing with all that came our way….Trust and collaboration was the warp and the weft of the day with our incredible dream team.
Woven in were tender moments -
@beshliemckelvie with her mother and daughter walking side by side - three generations light footed on the land that knows them so well.
@katherine_ewen_ being not only Ruby’s mama but mama to all of us.
@ruby.morling.ritchie floating the scarves effortlessly with poise and play whilst the kids hurtled through the undergrowth laughing as they flew…leading Ruby astray. All three of them were rays of light prancing in the grasses. Such a joy to watch.
Then as the fairy dust settled and the wind turned to a whisper the horse came to join us from her wild frisky bolting….she became so calm that she actually started posing for us. Proper posing.
It was one of those days where everything came together in perfect harmony. Just as in the the weave of these beautiful fabrics…the threads of silk, wool and cotton are woven by many amazing hands full of love and care. Beshlie works closely with collectives around the world making sure all levels of production are honoured, supporting fair trade and ethical fashion all the way.

It is heart warming to think of the mystical winds of that day, where magic was made and we played.
