University of Akron and Case Western Alumni ✨

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I, E’Shea S. Strong am a Case Western Reserve MSASS Advanced Standing, Intensive weekend Student…now Alumni (takes deep breath…ikr🤪). I pursued my studies within the social work major concentrating primarily on mental health services. My background began in social work at the University of Akron, as I enhanced my knowledge surrounding addiction and treatment. When I joined the Children Services Ohio Sobriety Treatment and Reducing Trauma team, I effectively applied the curriculum to impact children, youth, and families. This dynamic population allowed me to collaborate with service providers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure adequate care planning.

During my time at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, I have demonstrated my ability to excel in demanding environments. Balancing my studies with roles as a National Youth Advocacy Program foster care social worker, Educational Opportunity Center student liaison, and social work trainee within the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, I showcased both my resilience and adaptability. My ability to quickly assess and complete evidence-based interventions further underscore my ability to thrive in fast-paced settings.

Furthermore, I have obtained my social work license. And have officially graduated class of Spring 2024 with my Social Work Master’s and Trauma Informed Practice Certification. More extensively training me in diagnosing and treating emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders.

I usually remove my government, but just in case y’all want to check the credentials….. it’s all there!

Cleveland, we did it! 💚

What an incredible day! The inaugural The Check-In: A Mental Health Summit was everything I hoped it would be and more.

To every partner, sponsor, speaker, volunteer, and attendee who helped bring this vision to life, THANK YOU! Your support, energy, and commitment made this event a tremendous success.

This was more than an event. It was the beginning of something special.

The Check-In will be back in 2027!

Because sometimes the most important thing we can do is check in. 💚
