We went on a walk we usually do every day and look at Fleur go! How incredible that she still waited to check that I was near? I’m so in awe of how well she does off her lead and how well she responds to instructions to keep safe.

She had a really fun time today I think, back to a bit of normality and in the sun too 🥰 then back home for a nap under the bed, which is her safe space where she feels super relaxed and comfy 🥰

Nothing makes me happier than seeing Fleur happy, she’s made my life so much better so I hope I’m giving her a good life back ❤️ taken in Brighton by @fleurbaby_

I’ve not posted for a bit but I wanted to update you all with some news on Fleur. Yesterday she unfortunately showed signs of glaucoma in her remaining eye and by the time we got her to the vets it had gotten so bad she was already blind. It was horrific how quickly it developed and we’re all so heartbroken for her. As the eye was causing her a lot of pain and discomfort so it was decided that the best thing to do for her quality of life was to remove it. So she had surgery this morning and it went really well so she was able to come home this afternoon. She’s currently resting but enjoyed a bowl of chicken this evening! She really is the bravest, most resilient little soul. She’ll adapt to this new life and I know she’ll be ok. As you know, she’s my world and I’m going to do everything I can to make her happy and live a full life.

It’s devastating to see her with no eyes and her becoming blind so suddenly has been an enormous shock. The vets have been incredible but expensive - the bill is currently at £1375 and is expecting to rise. Unfortunately her insurance won’t cover any of this as due to her other eye being removed for the same reason it’s classed as a ‘pre-existing condition’. I hate to ask for help, but I have to for Fleur’s sake. I’ve set up a GoFundMe and the link is in my bio/stories. I know times are hard but any little thing counts and shares are equally appreciated.

A week ago I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl after a very sudden illness. I’m absolutely heartbroken, it was such a shock, I’m feeling quite lost without my little sidekick. She slept on my bed every night and now it feels so empty.

But although the last day was heartbreaking it doesn’t really represent Fleur’s life. It was one terrible day at the very end of a life that was filled with love, safety, cuddles, walks, food, family, warmth, little routines and her knowing that she was a part of the family. She was the most resilient little soul, despite losing her eyes and being a rescue. She was so brave. She was so affectionate and trusting, going up to everyone and anyone asking for cuddles, sitting on laps. I feel like she thought the best of everyone, she expected kindness from everyone she met and she was kind back.

How lucky I was to be loved by Fleur and to love her right back. I wish we had more time together but the 4 and a bit years we had were some of the best years of my life. She really was my soulmate. I’m glad I have this page because it’s all I’ve been looking at, reminiscing on all the lovely memories. Thank you little lady, for everything 🤍🤍🤍 by @fleurbaby_

Fleur is officially a duggie in a buggie!

As she’s gotten older her legs get more tired so now she can rest and we can carry on with where we’re going. I really think she likes being a passenger princess and now she has the energy to run around as much as she likes when we get to the park. Look how much fun she’s having, it makes me so happy to see her running and I’ve not seen her do that for a while. It’s given her so much more freedom and I think a better quality of life too. Excited to go on more adventures with her without worrying that her little legs are struggling ❤️🙃

Thinking of little Freddy today on his anniversary ❤️

He was so much fun, nearly always up to no good and I loved him loads. I got him for my birthday when I was 13 (not on a whim, I’d been asking for a dog for years and he was my birthday present because as you know, dogs are ££££!) He went everywhere with me and helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. Thank you Freddydog, love you always 🤍

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in so long! But Fleur has been her usual cute little self, busy playing with her pals, going to the beach, napping and even went on her second holiday which was exciting! I just want this little lady to have the life she deserves ❤️

Fleur has had a haircut! I think she looks a bit silly but still very cute 🥰 she’s also a lot more agile when her fur is short! I love to see her running more and she’s a lot more slippery when we’re playing and I’m trying to catch her haha. It’s that time of year when all that fur starts getting hot, although when the evenings get chilly she still loves a cuddle 🥹

A belated birthday trip to the big park as it was too rainy before! It seems Fleur’s thing is the run and roll, she was super pleased with herself for getting muddy. She tired herself out because she slept for two hours past her dinner time 🥲
