Neirane126 years ago, traditional wine broke the record for the furthest voyage to the north. Stored in the wooden hold of Stella Polare, the rich in tannins and acidity Verduno wine served as a shield against the polar frost for the crew of the historic arctic mission. The flavor of triumph still travels today through the legacy of winemakers.Neirane @acquadellelanghe , inspired by the homonymous vineyard hill inside the borders of Verduno, bottles a noble vision. Earthy nuances of iris, geranium and chamomile alternate with soft spices like coriander and cumin. Musk, leather and woods highlight the ethereal side of heaviness. A delicate oscillation of edges around sensitivity.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Gardenia 269 years ago, gardenias entered the botanical lexicon. Honouring not a garden but a botanist, Alexander Garden, who actually never worked with them. Soon after, gardenias also blossomed into pages of fiction, though notably absent from the most famous Secret Garden. Secret Gardenia @millerharris is nevertheless named after that novel, entangling the elegance of the flower to the garden archetype. Together aqual, yuzu, bergamot, pear, ylang ylang and violets form a thin, dewy, airy, fresh, creamy gardenia. An uplifting floral with a twist of modern ingredients around a classical recipe.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Orchidea 165 years ago, the world’s longest documented living orchid was planted in Singapore’s tropical Botanic Gardens. Open to the public eye, its giant yellow petals with maroon spots traded the cryptic mystery of the Letter Bearing Orchid for the wild camouflage of a Tiger, claiming the iconic nickname. Tiger orchids harbor a true mystery, that one of the split flower strategy. While keeping most blossoms fertile and odorless, the plant structurally alters its bottom flowers to scent organs, just for the bees.A sweet, delicate cross between jasmine and ylang ylang, the scent of no orchid can be extracted, but is interpreted in perfumery. Orchidea Reale @pineider is the most convincing, with mushrooms complementing the temperament of the majestic flower.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Iperborea162 years ago, Maxwell presented a unified theory ofelectromagnetism. The telegraph, the light bulb, theradio became the new compass thereafter, as Teslatranslated equations into efficient networks. One didnot change, the ability of the human mind to travelthrough fantasy again and again. Much like thelegends of the Hyperboreans, people in the farnorth who, according to the ancient Greeks, used tolive for thousands of years.A fragrant escape to the familiar unknown,Iperborea @lorenzovilloresi reflects that ideal of aneternal spring that the Hyperboreans were believedto live in. Bright and colorful, gentle and transparent,a bouquet of muguet, magnolia, jasmine andblossoms of any shape sparkles joy in the maths oftime.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Rose de Rose83 years ago, a fox shared a secret with a little prince: It’s the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important. In the asteroids of perfumery, that devotion should smell of an ageless blossom. Something like Rose de Rose @rance1795 , a memory of a rose macerating in rich oils of sandalwood, vanilla and white flowers.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Florence 493 years ago, a teenage bride triggered a scented revolution in Paris. Arriving from Florence, Catherine de Medici shocked by the terrible smell, depended on her personal alchemist and perfumer, Renato Bianco. Renamed René le Florentin, he established the very first local perfume boutique. Despite dark rumors of poisons and secrecy, aristocrats lined up for his scented powders and perfumed gloves. The queen altered the sensory identity of the city forever, setting the stage for the world’s elite noses.Crafted to embody a classic Parisian beauty, Florence @tocca blurs the lines of titles. Charming petals of gardenia and tuberose blend into a rich white floral core, balanced by bright, crisp greenery. Juicy pear and delicate violet round out the clean scent, crowning a mysterious contrast of innocence and sensuality in full bloom.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Matelda 239 years ago, Goethe criticized the Divine Comedy: To me, Inferno seems horrifying, Purgatorio ambiguous and Paradiso boring. Could a celebrated masterpiece just be a malicious play of sins and numbers? What Dante tries to escape may not be the medieval hell but the double cover of chaos. Greek and Biblical figures appear among faces of his time on the journey to paradise, with their contrast almost washed out by the light of Jesus. Yet the rivers to be crossed for the soul's restoration are two, according to Matelda. One for forgiveness, one for vision. Two ideals coexist also in Matelda @profumodifirenze . Flowers with rough edges tending to their delicate prototype and sweetness in her pure nature, welcoming and forgiving. Unblended, yet in fluent harmony.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Artemisia 436 years ago, love dared to break a curse in a rustic paradise. As a couple journeys toward marriage within the acts of Il Pastor Fido, the manipulative nymph Corisca stages traps to claim the groom for herself. She has a stalker too, a lustful satyr who, in an attempt to force his love upon her, pulls her by the hair, only to be left with a wig. Refusing to be a victim, the nymph spins her narrow escape as a genius tactical choice. Merely fifty years later, an artist accepts this monologue as truth, capturing her strength on the canvas of Corisca and the Satyr. She, the first woman to be accepted into Florence's art academy, is Artemisia Gentileschi.Artemisia @penhaligons depicts that feminine side of Baroque. In ethers of soft petals, a brave blend of woods, resins and musks hugs a melancholic vanilla heart. Meanwhile, nectarines, apples and herbs keep the colours fresh.#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

Lionora 572 years ago, a chess match was played on an Italian town square with living people and horses dressed as pieces and a human prize, Lionora. The game was orchestrated by her father, the local lord, as an alternative to a bloody sword fight between two noblemen deeply in love with her. The loser was awarded her younger sister, Oldrada, as his wife. The winner was the one Lionora secretly loved. As for the unmasked pawns, their destinies remain a secret, for this is a fictional 20th century romantic drama. The chess game replays through the vibrant composition of Lionora @mindgamesfragrance •PR•. Behind an exotic musky haze of apricot and passion fruit, a delicate heart of freesia and osmanthus flirts with spicy ginger and green sparkle. A warm base of rich sandalwood, milky vanilla and tonka bean softly cradles the romance.•PR @qdspr •#floralart #oilpastels #perfumelover by @fleursdenoir

ΜελπομένηMelpomene sings to the mortal ears of a path to chant through body and voice, to melpein (μέλπειν). Needed as she was in life's hardships, she became associated with the act of portraying those, tragedy. Centuries softened the heaviness of fate and the goat's ode, once signifying the ritual of a sacrificed tragos (τράγος), became the word for song, tragoudi. The muse still lingers in listening ears, as her name lives in the language as an attribute to the one singing of mischief.#art #oilpastels #dreamyaesthetic by @fleursdenoir

ΠολύμνιαPolymnia, the muse of many (πολύ) sacred hymns (ὕμνος), mirrors the evolution of human expression from voice to veneration. In antiquity, she lavishly provided poets with spoken words, yet these compressed over time into a space of gesture poetry, redefining her as the pantomime muse.#art #oilpastels #dreamyaesthetic by @fleursdenoir

ΘάλειαThaleia invites humor to bloom, to thallein (θάλλειν). Within the verses of Ornithes, antiquity’s most celebrated comedy, she endures as the whispered muse. Hymned for her symphonic truth, even in a work of theatrical lies wherein godly powers blur.#art #oilpastels #dreamyaesthetic by @fleursdenoir
