Warming trout waters means the smallmouth fishing is firing up! This summer give the trout a break and find some Bronze! If you are going to fish for trout, please start early and keep an eye on temps…. 65* is my limit. Carry a thermometer this time of year and ensure you are not targeting trout in waters that are above 67*

If you’ve never put a bend on the rod from a smallmouth, wait til you find some trophy Smallies like these guys did. The 20” Smallmouth had the 8f Helios bent all the way to the net.

Respect the Trout, Chase the Bronze!

If you’ve ever considered Smallmouth fishing on the Fly now is the time. Seeing these fish jump out of the water to eat your fly and chase it out of their holding structure is incredibly exciting! Great times on the water as usual….. #willbloopforfish

What a day, James and Mike are incredible casters and were placing the flies right where they needed to be. This resulted in a “You should have been here yesterday” kind of day. We lost count of the fish an hour into the float. Thank you for for hanging out with me today, it was a pleasure rowing you guys! @jamesnicholas.3

Looking for these fish is the spring is fun and when you get into one on the fly and they rip the reel…. Worth the hunt. Ethan was locked in and like a champ was casting meat all day and finally connected with one. Ethan is a great angler and his hard work paid off, good times.

A typical New England weekend…. During the week, beautiful…. Come fishing time, let’s gust 💨 at 27mph. That didn’t stop Aidan from finding the Bronze back among other fish! Lost a hell of a giant at the boat but he made up for it in numbers. Great day on the water, it only gets better from here…. See you on the water.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Drift Boat Fly Fishing: 101 seminar on Saturday.

I truly enjoyed the opportunity to share knowledge, discuss on-the-water strategy, and connect with anglers looking to expand their approach and try something new. Whether you’re targeting trout, smallmouth, or other species from a drift boat, I hope you walked away with insights you can confidently apply this season.

If you’re interested in getting on the water and putting it all into practice, feel free to reach out.

Lastly, a huge thank you to my friends at @orvisavon for hosting!

Looking forward to seeing you out there.
